I am on a 34......and bored......math is kinda fun......so here it goes : )
48 oz can of coffee at Walmart.......$8.00
Case of 40, 16.9 oz bottles of water.......$4.00
Claim of "up to" 380 8 oz cups per can of coffee equals 126 24 oz mugs of coffee. Let's call it 100. That is $.08 worth of coffee per 24 oz mug.
Water.........the expensive part if you use bottled water. $.14 per 24 oz mug.
Coffee filters.......too cheap to calculate
Brew your own 24 oz mug of coffee with bottled water.....$.22. with tap water $.08
Brew 2 qt thermos with bottled water.....$.55. with tap water.....$.20
If you drink coffee like I do, that is a significant savings annually.
Thank you for letting me be the math professor this afternoon! Lolnot4hire Thanks this. -
These are the problems I would work on while driving to stay awake.

That and fuel economy and just how low can I go?
Oh, on topic, I had a single cup Keurig in the truck for a while... but I liked the occasional Starbucks too (pro-tip: nice roomy single occupant bathrooms, good for a towel bath, shave and change of clothes). I used to drink truck stop coffee, but swore off it.Dockbumper Thanks this. -
I'm currently living nomadic. But not trucking yet. Just picked up a percolator coffee pot. Ironically the hard thing is finding filters for a percolator. LOL
-
Used one for years. The one I used didn't require filters. Just load up the metal basket with the little holes in it and let it rip. Haven't payed attention in years, but, back in the day, they used to sell a "percolator grind" coffee. It was coarser. Kinda like me at 60.....coarser! Now....." Get off my lawn!! LolWasted Thyme Thanks this.

I am not a "coffee snob" at all. A big can of Walmart ground coffee suits me fine. Frankly, I am just a cheap ### old man trying to bank cash for retirement. Rarely eat truck stop food, shop at Wally World once a week or so. My food and drink bill monthly is less than $400. I live in my truck by choice and am very comfortable. Have a chunk of cash in the bank and own a rental property in my home town. Tenants make my mortgage payment. I'll have it paid off in 5 years. All by being a Company Driver and a Miser. Should be able to retire at 67, I'm 60 now. Started 4 years ago with no money to speak of but no debt either. Life is goodkemosabi49 and not4hire Thank this.

The error of your math is I refuse to drink bad coffee.
I spend 15 bucks a pound, and happily..Dockbumper Thanks this. -
Ok.......in your earlier post you said you bought coffee by the Thermos for $1.30 at Loves or PFJ. Do you take your fancy pants coffee in there and brew it yourself? Lol!

I bought a faberware it does the same thing as the keurig but only cost 30 bucks and it works great I just put in enough water in the tank to make my cup of coffee it has measuring marks on the side of it and bought k cups at Walmart for like 15 bucks you get 48 of them

My girl 2 xmas ago got me a hamilton beach. It does pot and keurig. Hottest cup you'll find.
