Used to listen to him religiously when I had a dedicated night run. I enjoyed it and if you listen long enough to the big words he throws out when talking it makes you more interested.. If you stop listening for a while and then go back you get a different picture of him. He will disconnect and move to another caller if you question him. Yes he has some great advice and some sloppy advice but it was interesting and informative also. I guess if I had all them sponsors putting things on my truck for free I would do my best to promote them.

I met KR a couple months ago and I could tell he is a sincere person...Lisa, lol,,,she is awesome and keeps KR in his place, I guarantee that...
I have only talked on the show one time and that was shortly after I met him, to thank him. He cut me off but, he addressed this not too long ago and I understand it. Think about it, he has only 3 hours, with commercials and he cant waist a second, which he does but, he tries not to. so, he cuts people short. Even the guys that have been calling in for a while..."hey Kevin, Jimmy the junk man checking in"...lol

 

Don't get me started on Jimmy the Junk man. I know he only has so long to answer as many calls as he can and some of the people just call to yak about nothing sometimes but I have heard him cutting people off just for disagreeing with him and trying to explain their side. He does have some good sponsors and I assume that they are saving you fuel to a certain extent. You just have to weigh to cost to benefit your operation.

 

Who's Jimmy the Junkman?

 

Never met him but, the way he tell's it, he is doing really well and if you don't buy ss's now, your an idiot...lol I like listening to him though,,,sounds to me like he has moved upward in his operation. I was told a long time ago,,,,If you want to be in "here" in ten years, find someone in that position and ask them how to get there,,don't ask the guy you work with.

 

I have heard him cut people off too and a couple times I wanted to hear what that person had to say. We aren't going to be happy with every show and I certainly don't have my own show so, I won't pretend to know everything about running a radio show. I have heard him put up with a guy calling him a liar about his profit margin, referring to his FedEx trucks. KR bet him $1000 to the winners favorite charity and the guy wouldn't take it...guess he didn't have enough money or wasn't confident enough.

 

Well I don't fault him for cutting people off. I imagine they also screen calls and possibly have some acted calls. I mean, that's how you do radio. Doesn't matter if it's Rush Limbaugh or Art Bell. They're gonna take calls and use the power of the hangup to keep the show interesting and maintain an illusion of superiority of sorts. If they gave callers equal footing and didn't always get the last word, people would question their expertise and stop listening.
