Walmart may want to ask some questions... Especially if they were not expecting him to start pulling it !

So basically your hauling broker freight just using there trailer so essentially your just power only broker loads?

I am power only. The trailer company has a contract with the oil company. I contract out to the trailer company. I tell them when I'll be there to load and trailer company dispatch tells me where it's going to. Short regional so this is everyday.

3 trailer companies have contract with this oil company. there is one owner op who has a truck on with 3 of them hauling the same loads in direct competition.

Because of the short loads and frequent contact with the trailer companies dispatch, it could be seem as lease op but we are all independent and I do take side work.

The problem you are running into causing this confusion is you are trying to look at how trucking works here with how it works north of the border. They don't have "authority" up there. At least not in a way that directly translates to how we do it down here.

And to answer your question, yes i am leased to mercer. But it's not a lease purchase. The term lease purchase refers to folks that are in a lease purchase with a carrier. A completely different thing than leasing your equipment to a carrier.

Actually same thing you just own or finance your equipment threw a third party. Not much difference unless you know a way it's different. Your trucks leased to mercer they control what and when you haul. You buy truck from quality lease to mercer. One in the same correct?

No because Mercer does not control when and what and for how much they haul it for.
