It said I have to work for the company for at least 12 months as a pay back to fulfill my training fees

Buddy, they're not going to kick you out for failing once, I promise you, lots of their students fail at least one portion on the first go. I know I've read more than one person posting on here about failing and they weren't sent home.

Now let's expound on that. What happens if you get kicked out for not passing? Well, you will not be working there for 12 months. Any guesses on what will happen?

Seriously, these mills need warm bodies too bad to kick you out for not passing your CDL exam. Now if you fail say 3-4 times then they might kick you out. Stop worrying about this and make sure you know your pretrip. Believe it or not that tends to be the hardest part as wording matters.

They probably train someone till they give up unless Prime has some set limits. I don't see how they can charge someone for training unless you have valid CDL when or if they kick you out.

To put it bluntly, if you're not comfortable ask for more training/time.

They want you to pass and be an indentured servant for a year while paying you subpar wages, while they take in the profit off of you, and that gubamint subsidy for training you.

Fulfill your commitment then get the heck out.

If the college said we give you a free education and in return you have work for them for a couple years. It would be the same deal as truck driving school. The whole deal is you get free training and valid CDL. If you don't walk away with a CDL seem like they did not train you. Seems like they would not holding up their end of the contract.

That how is was when I did the free training deal. It was not at Prime and it was a long time ago. They would train you till you passed or you do some thing wrong and get fired. Then they would just send you home on your way. I don't see how they come after you for the money if the let you go for any reason and you don't have a valid CDL

Worked in house at Prime in the training department for a few years.

No, you are not going to be sent home if you fail your test.

Passing all three of your tests on the first attempt is what they call a trifecta. When I left the company just over a year ago, the OTR instructor trifecta rate was 38% if I remember correctly. Just imagine if they sent 62% of their students home for failing their test after feeding, housing, and transporting them for several weeks.

If you fail your test and even fail more than once, some of these things will happen:

    - You and your instructor will both work with an in house instructor
    - You will be put in a local training program and work exclusively with an in house instructor
    - You will go back OTR with a more established OTR instructor

You may hear its three strikes and you're out by people walking around there or even from your FM. It's not true. Well if you fail your PT three times it's probably true, dont do that. They're not going to give up on you unless they decide that you are incapable of learning how to drive a truck or they have issues with your ambition to do so. They have lots of chicken nuggies and frozen pizzas to be hauled and need you to do it.

Also you should have been given contact information for Stan Kasterke and Steve Larsen. These are your contacts if you are having issues in your training that your FM isnt solving. (Have you been talking to your FM weekly like you're supposed to?)

Also, one last thing, if your instructor thinks you are ready to test, trust his judgment. He may be wrong, who knows. I can tell you that I've either fully or partially trained around 300 people to get their CDLs there, and probably 75% of them thought they weren't ready before I sent them to pass their test.
