Where can I get a small reliable kicker. Running a Cobra 29LTD that is KW factory fresh. I run from Michigan to Fayetville AR and from Michigan to Reading Pa.

Need a reliable source that won't sell me some junk. Many years ago I ran a Texas start that was a very good unit, bought it some place in Georgia, don't go that way ever.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Try eBay. They often have amps for sale there. The RM Italys seem to be popular amongst the CB crowd. Something like a KL503 would probably work well for you.

Some CB shops that are internet order based, sell them online. You just gotta do a search. I don't know of too many that sell in their stores. I think they got a little scared once Uncle Charlie started knocking over shops selling 10 meter radios and amps.

Thanks Turbo-T I'll check on Ebay even though I'm leery of internet sales.

    Thanks again

Try J4 Radio, at Hoods T/S on I-44 southwest of Springfield Mo. He can probably hook you up. If not,at least get you headed in the right direction. Or if you get through Carlisle Pa., on your way to Reading Pa. Try DTB Radio.

I'll second that. Jim is a good guy and a good tech and his prices are very reasonable. He has been around for years and will do you right. And if you don't see it, ask, you never know what he might have that isn't out on display. He'll check out your system and make sure it is set up to work at it's best too. (DTB has good reports from people I trust as well, but I've never used him.)

Another place I found that sometimes sells kickers....is a ham fest. Not kidding here. At least 2 I have been to someone is selling an amp that was clearly intended/aimed at the CB market. I usually buy them up as they're usually cheap and throw 'em on eBay only to watch people bid the snot out of them. I usually come out well ahead. lol

The only downfall is usually there's no way to test one at a ham fest, even though most hams are pretty honest. I figure in my case since I bought them so cheap chances are even if they didn't work I could always get my money back out of them in parts. But that's just me.
