Oh no...still have the dave's...Just thought I would give a new'be a brake and not list Joe...One phone call to Joe, and the guy would give up the idea of having a CB radio all together!:smt003
Stickmans still building, I sent him a email a few weeks ago asking about a 2x6 or possibly rebuilding one of my Dave's.Mad Dog 20/20 Thanks this. -
Ol' Joe is like a mean old alleycat, just scratch him between the ears and he'll start purring and then rubbing against your leg.
.... no for real though, he can be a handful for even the experienced hobbyist who know what they want and need... lol .... Joe is a cool cat -
Your right...First time I spoke with Joe on the phone, within less than a minute I was wanting to crawl threw the phone lines and choke his neck! But after I got to know him (on the phone) he was a cool guy.
I can see things from his point of view, I'm sure he gets tons of calls from guys asking all kinds of goofy questions, and then never buy anything, so I'm sure after awhile that gets old and gets on your nerves... Some say he's not a "people-person" and probably looses allot of business because of it, but when your in the business of building illegal CB Amplifiers and have a waiting list a mile long, you can afford to not be a "people-person". -
OOOPS!
Regulatory: FCC Fines CBer for Operating Illegal Transmitter With Amplifier
Helping to alleviate concerns that it rarely polices the Citizens Radio Service (CB), the FCC has fined an Alaska CBer $500 for willfully and repeatedly operating a non-certificated CB transmitter with an RF linear amplifier which, the Commission said, violated federal law and its rules and voided his authority to operate his CB station. In a Forfeiture Order released October 30, the FCC noted that the CB operator, Glenn S. Yamada, of Kenai, Alaska, did not deny the violations but stated that he did not intend to violate the Communications Act of 1934 or FCC rules.
Yamada also told the FCC that he was unable to pay the initial forfeiture of $12,500, imposed in a July 18, 2012, Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture (NAL). The Commission said its agents had identified Yamada as the source of a signal that the Commissions High Frequency Direction Finding Center observed interfering with safety of life operations on the frequency of 21.965 MHz [sic] in January and February 2012. The FCC said that based on financial documents Yamada provided, it found sufficient basis to reduce the fine to $500, and it gave Yamada 30 days to pay or have his case turned over to the US Department of Justice for enforcement of the forfeiture.
As required by the NAL, Yamada informed the FCC in writing in August 2012 that he was still engaged in CB operations, using a certified transmitter that was not attached to a linear amplifier.

Ooop's is right...Knuckle head shouldn't have been down on 21.965 running illegal equipment which was interfering with "safety of life operations" which I have no idea what that is, but I feel quiet sure will get the FCC called if your interfering with it...Had Mr. Yamaha Yokohama just kept his nose on in the 27 MHz range the FCC probably would never had payed him a visit...mike5511 Thanks this.
-
According to the initial FCC NAL, Mr. Yamaha Yokohama was transmitting on 27.025 MHz (CH 6).....
-
well...that explains allot right there!

Somehow I doubt he only got one visit from Uncle Charley... -
Probably what happened was his amp was so dirty, he sent spurious emissions down to 21 MHz range even though he was on channel 6 CB. (27.025 MHz) That's why some hams don't like those cheap amps that the CB crowd loves....they have next to no filtering and sometimes that can interfere with another frequency several MHz away.

Some of the guys here that stay on the Bowl, could bleed over on TV stations over in Hong Kong, and the International Space Station...I even herd that NASA briefly lost control of the Mars Rover due to some jack-arss in Jersey pointing his Beam towards Mars and cause the Rover to run off a cliff...Took NASA a week to relocate it.
