When I worked there my wife was a ride along we didn't team. I hear they really try and take care of their teams but like GA_Rookie said a guarantee isn't worth much. They treated me well when I worked there. They haul a lot of wal-mart freight......a lot of drop and hook. Also general mills Budweiser beer I can't remember all of the big ones but they do have a lot of dedicated accounts. Kawasaki is another one. They try to keep you on the road 3 weeks to a month at a time and when you are on home time they will try and cut it short. That's why I went elsewhere. But other than that not a bad place to work. I worked out of the Kansas city terminal , the manager was Dave W. back then. Good luck to you.

Kids are in danger anytime you send them out into the world. Anyone remember Sandy Hook? Columbine? Erfurt and countless other school shootings. If a driver wants to take his/her kid on the road, more power to them!

As much as I feel there is no place in a cab of a truck for a kid, people will do what they want to. The problem for me is when that kid becomes my problem and I've had a couple real serious problems with kids while on the road and parents who think it is their right not to be questioned when it involved me.

So my advice is don't ever expect others to be the safety guard for your kid, you have to be the one totally responsible for them and if something happens, do not ever blame the other person.

As much as I feel there is no place in a cab of a truck for some CURRENT DRIVERS, starter companies will do what they want to.

I want to apologize to Mr Condo. I think my wording was wrong. I do agree, I personally wouldn't have an infant riding with me in a truck.

The danger though is when we, as a society, try to determine what's best for someone else's children. It's a huge problem and it starts off ever so simply, then parents hands are tied. Ever see an adult parent try to reason with a two year old in public when the toddler gets ornery? Turns my stomach. Got a buddy who's a lawyer...his son tells him all the time, "I don't have to mind you!" 4 years old!!!! Drives me insane. Can't stand it...I have to leave. I don't say anything, because that's his choice. Same thing goes with bible thumpers, Muslims, atheists, homosexuals and whatnot. It's not a school's place to expose children to "alternatives". Young adults, sure. Children, no way Jose. That right belongs only to the parents.

A truck is no place for a two year old. They are rambunctious and curious and don't like sitting for long periods of time. Don't do that to your child. It's no place for him or her. What a selfish thing as well. A toddler needs room to play, explore, learn and get to be a two year old. There is a lot more about it than safety.

In my opinion a truck is no place for infants and toddlers. I don't understand people who raise whole families in their truck, but that's their business. That said I have did my 13 year old nephew out on the truck for a week last summer. It can be a great learning experience for older kids.

I took 2 of my children each a couple of times, on one, two and 3 day trips. You guys that say it is not the place for children are correct...but what fun did we have. It is tough if one is on a quasi tight schedule, but they are grown now, and we still talk about those trips. Seat belts, are you kidding me, I even let them play in the back. I know......

I would be arrested today also for the way I took all 3 of mine on short motorcycles rides as well. Only by the grace of God did they survive childhood with a crazy dad.......oh yes, the bicycle rides on 2 lane country roads with no shoulders...forgot about that one.

But then I lost an 18 year old niece to drugs, and a 19 year old nephew to a car accident, a 3 year old neighbor to a farm accident, and a 13 year neighbor to a heart issue, and a friend's brother to drowning, etc., so life is very fragile no matter how safe one tries to play it....

    GeorgeB and HotH2o Thank this.
