I use to raise it, got old. I stop doing it. Never had issues yet.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I liked to jack my front end to give me more room to grease all zerks under the truck, particularly the clutch. I bought a 20 ton air hydraulic jack from Harbor Freight cheap after sale price and discount coupon. About $99 at the time. We'll worth it.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Mike Becket of MD Alignment said a steer vibration can be caused by a worn bottom-a shim if I remember correctly particularly if there is a tow out. That's where I got the idea of greasing while off the ground and turning the wheel. He also said to still grease with it on the ground. I had a vibration I would drive through as speed increased, and that worked. It bought me 1-2 years before I replaced my kingpins.

    Rideandrepair and KB3MMX Thank this.

    Complete BS.

Grease them regularly, normally, don't neglect the greasing is the most important part to remember.

Every 5k miles , a few pumps of Amsoil off road 5% moly HD #2 and you'll never need to replace them. Best grease available, bar none.
