I took the refresher back with ffe before kllm bought them out,it was like 2 weeks long, now I believe its 7 days, but you still go with a trainer not sure how long.I'm a lease driver with kllm, and overall to me they've been a good company.

I went through the refresher course last month. Before starting, I was told it was a 7 day course, followed by 3 days of orientation, and 6 weeks with a trainer. It ended up being a 5 day course, most of which was spent doing nothing but standing around. There is no schedule, no organization, just a bunch of students wondering what to do next, while the instructors gossip. For the most part, they were a nice bunch, especially my instructor. After the course is complete, you are moved to another hotel for orientation, which is fairly typical of most companies, lots of paperwork and such.

I waited a week at the hotel for a trainer, wasn't allowed to go home, or I wouldn't be paid to wait. No biggie. I finally leave with a trainer, and was on his truck for only a week, before I got off. He would tailgate so closely, you couldn't see the taillights of the vehicle in front. He didn't know how to use a map, only relied on GPS, and whatever way it said to turn, he would, which caused some big problems in downtown Detriot at 2 am. He caused an accident by running a pickup into the concrete wall, and refused to stop. He threatened my life if I told anyone.

When we got back to Jackson, I got me and my stuff off the truck, and had a chat with the head of the training department and HR. I was told he would no longer be training, and to go home and I would get another trainer, and I will be paid while I wait. 3 weeks later, i'm still not being paid, still waiting, and can't get anyone to respond to my phone calls or emails. At first, I was thinking they were busy, it's the holiday season, whatever. But not being paid after being told I would be, is not acceptable. And not returning any of my messages...which can easily be done with 30 seconds out of your day...is rude, and does not give a professional image of the company.

I know of many people there that are happy, and I wish things had worked out for the better for me. But it seems like i'm being punished for reporting an unsafe trainer, and I can't afford to sit and wait any longer, so i've applied with other companies. I won't tell anyone to not go to KLLM, but I will say if you do, I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like a heck of a one week road trip. Do they make you sign a agreement to work for them for so long if you go through there Refresher course?

You are required to sign a contract for 6 months, or you have to repay the $2000.00 tuition.
