If you take the dmv test in one yes. You can't drive a manual. To get the restriction off you would have to retest in a manual. Now when you go out with a trainer they could have a auto or manual.
The company is switching to an auto fleet. But the school teach manuals. Trainer is luck of the draw. My trainer had an auto. It's nice but I wish he had a manual. For the fact of learning more on it. Especially in the mountains.
