I've seen that in crashes years ago when trucks were built like tanks, there was very little give. I never saw cabs come off like that. It's like older cars years ago, the safety mindset was make it like a tank. Trouble was, when 2 of those cars collided, it was worse for passengers. That's why todays cars crumple like they do.

With 70 mph winds... It can get down right scary if you get caught out in the middle of BFE, WY when thise conditions hit... Trust me, I know. Only time I've ever parked on a ramp.

I often wondered about the Freightliner Cabs getting knocked off completely. Mine only has 2 bolts in front, and the torque rod holding it. I thought of putting a chain, with some slack on each side, at the back, just in case.

Well the Knight truck and the other jackknife I mentioned were both International trucks(the Knight truck looks like an LT while the other one may have been a ProStar). But I would imagine Navistar has a similar setup or something close as far as the cab mountings are concerned.

Oh, I don't know, I think it's better the cab comes off. I've seen some pretty schmeared older truck cabs still attached to the frame.
