Has anyone heard anymore on this Case and how bad Knight is going to get BENT OVER. I am hearing rumors that the widow and her atty are looking in the 100 Million Dollar Range to settle from a couple Lawyer Buddies I know and one Cousin that is a COO of National Leasing that when I gave him the link to the case went OH CRAP what was Knight Thinking he forwarded this this to 2 more cousins that work in the Insurance Industry both in Risk Mangement and Both told him and ME the same thing Knight is ON THEIR OWN FOR ANY DAMAGES ON THIS ONE.

Pretty interesting thread here. It seems with all large organizations you have a "grey area" where folks get jammed up and it seems to be a black hole. Like the left hand being unknowing about the right hand. What is amazing to me is how this company is still in business? How does this happen?
I am not a professional driver and so my thoughts are from the post and the legal action noted. I've worked with logistics in the shipping industry for overseas freight and containers shipping companies. Most of those carriers are foreign flagged and they hire foreign labor except for the skilled labor positions like the mates, chief engineer and the masters. So there is a lot of greed and underhanded things going on daily.
You gotta eat and you have families or other responsibilities and work is hard and hard to find. So it is your threshold of pain and frustration that will make the decisions on how much you take before you roll to the next job. -

So, YOU have to just watch your pay. Yes, this can be a PITA, but it's really not that onerous. And, you need to have a good DM.
I read some horror stories on this board about terrible DM's that only give you 1500 miles a week, but I have to say that has never been a problem for me. Not consistently, anyway. The first couple of months of the year, everybody is scrambling for miles. But, I usually get more miles than I really want to run (hey, I like to kick back and watch football, and/or play with my computer on weekends).
And, as has been said, maybe it depends on the terminal you run out of (I am out of MPLS), but I can't imagine a DM that doesn't want to post good miles for his or her drivers, unless they are getting ready to quit, themselves. They're just people, just like the drivers. 99% of them are probably trying to do a good job.

Not to mention any specific Knight terminal,, I will say this,, I know personally a lease operataor that had to stay home for several months to provide care for his dying wife,,, when she passed, he tried to sign back on again and was told you cant just come back, you need a new application and you cant come back as a lease operator purchasing a truck from knight like you where doing,, You need to spend another 6 months on the job before we can let you re lease one of our trucks..although you have been a leased driver leasing a knight truck for over a year,, its our rules...so you need to come back as a company driver for at least 6 months.so we can see if you qualify to become a lease operator for knight....true story

Again, the biggest problem I have with Knight is that it is soo big, that there isn't much room for the individual. It is what it is.
There are advantages to being big in this industry, but also downsides. -

This trooper ballinger was a idiot. Why wouldnt he have done this. Also why wouldn't he have went t Cali and looked and impounded the trk. Sherry police work or this sheet would have never came to this and had knight by the balls along time ago!!
