And what, you think I'm lying about what I make? Or that the fact I drive for knight and get the kind of loads I get? I know the records don't look good as far as safety is concerned, but they do work with you if you work with them. I have worked for Conway, and I hated the fact I never saw home no matter how many times I requested for it. And now, I get everything here I want. A steady paycheck and I'm home every week.

There's some really dumb things every company does, and nothing tops CR England, they are in a class of its very own. At least here with Knight I have not had any problems except with the sitting duck policy they have. But even there that can be avoided very easily. The experience I have had with this company has been wonderful, it's not a ######## that everyone thinks it is. The ones that do are either uninformed or lazy incompetents in the company that doesn't know how to drive or be persistent on getting the loads.

The things I've seen this company do for the people that does for the company is amazing. And some of the things people has done like this court case is an exception to the rule. I go in for a Level 1 inspection I'll guarantee that I'll have a perfect score which would lower the overall score. Which points to the fact that the people who do dumb things will always do something incredibly stupid. Whereas I have seen other companies do some spectacularly stupid things. In fact, a Conway driver hit a fire hydrant here the other day, after taking down a power pole, and the person kept going. Then a couple days ago a LandStar driver backed up at an excessive speed into the Pilot off of I5 and exit 176. That place is a cluster of chaos all the time, and this guy slammed into a truck with his trailer and tried driving away in front of witnesses.

Then there's many other stupid things people do, but yes, that's the problem, there will always be idiots out there, but the people are exceptions to the rule rather than the rule itself.

At least CR England rolls their OWN trucks, not roll their trucks over somebody.

I've been here at Knight since March. Money is good, miles are good, and my DM works with me on everything. I have absolutely no compaints. Tried Con-way, didn't like it there. Sat around waiting on loads all the time. That doesn't happen here. I always have a preplan before I get to my delivery. I am out of the Indy terminal and as far as I'm concerned, its the best one they have. The terminal manager has very high standards for everyone that works there to follow.

    Hammerup Thanks this.

Well, I work for Con-way, and I don't sit and wait on loads, when I go to Laredo. Just as soon as I get on the yard in Laredo, I have a pre-plan on me, before I even drop my trailer at the terminal. It all depends on the hours you have to work with if you are having to sit and wait on a load. After all, if you have the hours they will want to keep you moving, but if you are low on hours, they are not going to dispatch you immediately, so the theory of having to wait for a load would depend on the hours, and generally, if you are having to wait; you must not have used option 5 for driver services, because option 5 lets you know what areas that a driver can go and pick up their next load once they leave the terminal with a load, because they will dispatch you on the hours you have available, because their reputation is on the line about your on-time delivery. Also, I may add if you have the hours, they will give you a choice on loads, and that is when you use the option 5 to find out where you will be going too with a choice of loads to choose from. Another thing that Con-way looks at is how well you use your time, if you use your hours, meaning you run your time out, when I stop to take my 10hr break, I have less than an hour left on either my 11 or my 14. I got detained in Arkansas not too long ago on I-40 just before you get into Little Rock. There was a Celadon Truck that caught on fire east of I-40 around the 205 mile marker. The driver hit the guard rail some how or another and his truck caught on fire. When I noticed the delay, I immediately informed operations of the delay, and as long as you communicate with them, they can let the customer know what is going on. There is a little booklet they hand out to you, and on the front of that little booklet, there is a slogan that says, "Running late. Communicate". Be honest with you, it has made a world of difference, and they have allowed me with more time on a time sensitive load. Also, when a person posted they would take week off. Do they allow you to bank your time off for a later time, and yes it is a double edge sword of not getting home on a weekly basis, but you have to take the good with the bad here about home time, besides if you go home; you will not be making money, unless you have vacation time, or your off on home time during a holiday, then you get paid for being on home time. The monthly bills do not take a day off, because they keep coming in all the time.

Respectfully, there is no merit in that posting about Con-way.
