My questions were never whether or not I should go to work for Knight, my questions were more or less what port and inter modal work entailed. Thanks.
-
only knight is going to let you know that when i worked for them for 1 month i picked up an empty container took it to a customer got loaded brought it back to the railyard rts where 400 to 500 miles 200 one way 200 back i was home every day.

the thing about the Port in Long Beach is that you have to keep doing it and don't give up...eventually you will figure out the best times and the worst times to go in and out...that's what I did...you can still go there at a good time and get stuck...it can and will happen..I always tried to pick up and drop off at the same terminal after 9pm..even better if you can pick up and drop off after 11pm...I forget when the last break is..all I know is that late deliveries and pickups are better in the Port..and it's better on the freeway...if you can pick up, and drop off in the same terminal and get rollin before noon you should be able to make it home...and if you're anything like me you should be able to get loaded/unloaded or do drop and hook and head back...I would normally drive to Fontana and do 10 hour break and then try to finish the rest of my round trip

Thanks for the feedback @steeveej any other insight would be greatly appreciated.

TB John did you go to KNIGHT PORT SERVICES??!! @TB John

Well I'm still planning on going to Knight but little stuff keeps getting in the way. I really think my wife is trying to sabotage this whole thing. She says go for it, but I don't think her heart's in it There is a guy from Knight Port & Intermodal that parks his rig at a K-Mart down the street from me I'd like to get a hold of. He's parked there on the weekends like clockwork. How are things going for @steeveej ?
-
