Ronin..i work the reefer division, lots of miles, different management. I average over 12k miles per month. September I drove 13580. and was in shop for day and a half . Sure am glad I'm not out in this mess we're getting.
vetteman (or anybody else), I have a question for you. I am a newbie, gonna get my CDL in April. I am thinking of going to Knight reefer division. My question is.. how difficult is it to get some decent sacktime when all that refridgeration equipment is running? Is it possible to always keep it running continuously, kinda like a white noise thing, rather than having it come on and off? Thanks all!
You can always turn it off if it bothers you. I used to work for a small outfit, and even if my reefer unit was not working AT ALL, they would load me in Chicago with frozen product and run me to central MN, LOL! Never had a problem with product on the MN end. Just goes to show you, people worry too much.
People are full of faults, arent they? Not only do people worry too much, they are also real quick to judge each other! But thanks for the info Tracy.
well Knight wont take you right out of school.. and if you do do any reefer work, youll get used to the noise unless its an old carrier unit. i keep mine on continuous, noise is minimal.
let me say that Knight will take u ,but in their Squire div. then u have to go to the red side, which is not the side you want to work. looking for mt's hoping for miles etc. maybe thats why they never wave back at us reefer guys,,,
Is there a perfect trucking company out there? I work for KR and for you to say that I am stupid, retarded, lacking self-esteem is offensive. There is "SMUT" out there on EVERY trucking company. I choose to work for a debt free company (Knight is debt free) and by doing so I don't have to worry about being stranded like the Arrow drivers were last year right before christmas. So tell me what company doesn't have some problems?
