I worked for KR for 8 years. Electronic logs is why I left.
KR rules
Stay on E logs
No Idling or very little allowed
No APU
If your not a team you will end up unloading trailers for teams. Team cross country, you unload 3 stops in 3 days 600 miles.
this kind of work ok?
not for me, I moved on to drive a city bus. Good wage, union, home every night. I made good money at KR before the e-logs but those days are gone -
Take it easy pal, the war is over. they have new parts for your head.
You like unloading trailers for teams, go for it. I moved on to a city bus, union pay & real OT
home everyday. Who is ignorant now? -
Don't do it, I started w/ knight back in 2005, made $300-400 per wk/ I told them I couldn't work and be away from home for that type of money/ so they put me on a dedicated run NICE. Made 700- 800 per wk for several years// then the account slowed lost most of their loads /not enough trailers to load for the account/ so then I went to the reefer side/ did ok for the first 2yrs. Leasing a truck, almost time for trk to b paid off, now we don't have any freight// slowdown can't pay bills/ real talk KNIGHT IS A JOKE/ ILL save payroll problems for another post/ KNIGHT REEFER IS AN EVEN BIGGER JOKE/ I wouldn't tell anyone to work for them/ i
I stop working for them 2011, I tryed to stick it out with them, but in the end it was taking too much of a toll on me. They will call you back for rehire, I even did that once thinking things may have changed, things changed, but only for the worst/ thoes childish KIDS THEY CALL DRIVER MANAGERS/ are a waste of space/ they are CHILDREN TRYING TO TELL AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER HOW TO DRIVE OR DO A TRUCKING JOB/ MOST HAVE NEVER BEEN INSIDE A BIG RIGG/ TRUE STORY! "You cannot move your truck for 10 hrs (or) your 10 hr break will restart. No shower, no food, no truckstop. Just waiting in the cab all day. With ele logs the good loads go to the teams so you end up unloading trailers for teams. Team drop & hook Wa. to Chi. You get load, takes 3 days to unload at 120 miles a day. Then you get another trailer from the team to unload. 3 more days of misery."
No, you are, all you do is come on this board and post negative crap on a company that fired you long ago. You couldn't make it, so give it up.
As to my comment on the above post, I stand by it. If a driver can't stand up for him/herself, and/or think far enough ahead to avoid what is in the quote, then maybe they should apply for a french-frying job at McDonald's.
Well in reply: the truth is never negative. It is the truth. Fired? you do not even know me. I did the KR stop, drop & roll. I stopped in the yard, dropped my stuff into my ride and rolled out of there. KR was the one trying to get me back.
Times have changed. When I ran 850 miles a day, KR was fine. Some here keep talking about trip planning. Can you drive 14 hrs a day on elogs? Move your truck at will for shower & food? Not!
KR suck azzes keep bringing up this negative crap about us experienced drivers who know how to make money. Cut & dried. Those french-frying jobs at McDonald's pay more than KR. Just do the math. KR is a waste of time. Feel free to find out for your self. -
850 miles a day?
bigjuice61 and YOUNGUN1978 Thank this. -
Take the old roadswest 72mph trucks and run hard. 850 a day no problem. I regularly took phx - denver loads overnight. There used to be good money in trucking
JAX853 Thanks this. -
Jax, that's back in the day when KR made money running freight, now they make money in other ways, driver payroll, student driving jobs, rehiers, govt perks, ya know, KNIGHT DON'T GIVE A HOOT ABOUT A DRIVER OR YOUR FAMILY,but DRIVERS, you gotta get in where you fit in, feel it out for yourself if need be. Don't expect too much from Knight, and don't accept too little. Know when to hold'em & know when to fold'em// KNIGHT TRANSPORTATION/ REFRIGERATED= BAD COMPANY!!!!
JAX853 Thanks this. -
Oh yeah, KR update, I heard they want teams to run the miles, while the solo drivers sit & del the loads after the team has run all the miles off the trip. That is coming from a current KR owner opp. (1700-1900mi per wk) past 4 wks/ wow!!

Here is an old KR Roadswest truck cruising at 72mph. You new KR drivers only see this speed loaded downhill with a good tailwind LOL
