When I joined it asked for all that info. I believe that you can add it on your profile info. If not, ask one of the moderators. I know they can help.

I agree, it is job security, you will NEVER be unemployed unless you choose to do so. People can't hang because they feel like they can't be away from home or live in $35k a year. If you want to make more, I suggest college at this time. I have issues that keep me out of OTR, chiefly among them is a I can't go away and leave my dad alone sitting at home all day watching TV. It pains me too much to watch & think about. At least when I am at home he actually gets out and does things with me. I have my CDL and it won't go away, I might need to do a refresher down the line when and if I decide to get back into it, but for now I am going to have to be happy delivering groceries to old ladies for safeway. Yeah it's not glamorous, it's not big rig truckin, but it is a stable paycheck until something better comes along, and right now I can't ask for more. Trucking isn't for everyone, it's a hard, thankless job that only earns the respect of those who do it with you, and trust me you WONT get rich doing it, but you will certainly earn a stable wage and never not have a paycheck. If you want in, get in and get driving, if you don't, we wish you the best in whatever endeavor you take on.

Good for you for taking care of your father. That being said, my guess is that you are also living in HIS house. Many of us pay for our own housing and support our own families with no help from anybody else. Hence, the importance of making more than $35,000 a year; along with all the worries and stresses of not having any choice but to continue to show up for work EVERY day. Unfortunately, staying at home with loved ones is not a choice many of us have. No matter how much they need us.

Why would you start a new screen name and yet ANOTHER color font? You do know the moderators on here can help you if you lost your password right?

No, I did find a perfect job--the one where I would be an Adult Film star making millions with young blondes all over me.

As to 'Did I find a job' other than a bottom-feeder, the answer is 'Yes--but No.'

I am at a container outfit where the illegals have evidently took over this trucking outfit. At least I finally was assigned a truck of my own--no more slip seating.

I will work long hours with no benefits, but will make money, just not enough to cover the hours I will work, and not spend days waiting for loads in truckstops. No hunting for trailers. If I am short-paid, I can reach across the owners desk and take him by the neck. If the Schneider money was better, then I would have flipped a coin as to this company I am at or pumpkin.

On some of the long/outlaw/non-HOS-loggable runs, I may stay in a hotel. Oh, another HUDGE bonus of the current company, I am in a Day Cab and no more 53'-footer/air craft behind 246" Double-Sleeper carriers to deal with. No Hazzy required either.

    --------------

Being home everyday means much to me for I have taken up gardening over the past three years. I have 300 seedlings growing or planted currently and now I will be able to see them through to market.

All in all, yeah, I believe this is the best I can do for now and so I am going to be happy with it for now.
