At least the company didn't one day call you and say turn in your truck. We don't have enough work and have to sell the truck

I get paid for searching for an empty. More accurately, I don't search unless I do get paid. I'm not spending my 14 running around looking for a needle in a haystack, especially for free. Either pay me for it, or find me an empty and I'll go get it.

Portland's terminal. Why would you drive around for free looking for an mty trlr? Tell your DM how much he owes you for local work, or simply put it in on macro 18 to get a PO. Don't expect them to babysit you, take the initiative to look out for yourself and go to the terminal mngr if you need to. Open door policy. As far as Denver's terminal I stay away from that hole.Drive Safe!

My DM sends me directions to one

Oh come on, what would we have to complain about if we did that?

Exactly. Tell me where it is and I'll go get it. Or I'd be happy to do the old wild goose chase, but you can bet the meter's runnin...

You wanna Drive for a good carrier, also debt free, go to Crete. They wont play favoritism because they don't have DM's. You get your loads straight from the planners working the area your in. Good luck.

Th
Then quit. Its only gonna get worse for you when your paperless. -
Why would I wanna quit? I don't have any complaints.
As for the paperless logs, I'm sure it's gonna be interesting until we learn the new system, and learn how to work it to our advantage, but that's gonna be the norm industry-wide in the near future,IMO. So may as well get used to it, right? -
Well then, if the terminal manager wasn't spending most of the day farming out loads to drayage companies you might be able to speak to them. If you think this isn't true, go and ask. So far as looking for empties and doing "local" work, I do get paid one way or another. I won't spend more than an hour looking for an empty before I lay it on thick enough that they just bobtail me. But like I said, my only real complaint is the overweight, lazy, unfocused, idiot of a "DM". I actually feel sorry for this person. In any event, I am probably putting in my 2 weeks the next time I'm through the terminal. Unless I can get a dispatcher that can stay focused for more than a nanosecond. So where are you out of again?
