I have been to that indy spot not only is the parking not adequate as is with all knight terminals with the exception of a few.
There is no excuse for this they have plenty of capital . I found the tactics and general operations of this region incompetent and quasi extortionist to say the least. Not all regions are made the same ..
I had certain trips that were never paid emails from supervisor to payroll telling them to pay said driver for said trip were ignored repeatedly ..
    What say you .

Knight driver told me, no signed BOL or drop ticket with trip sheet scanned no pay. The super has nothing to do with non PO issues. He said from time to time he has had to rescan trips but you have to ink out the bar code and then run the trip sheet again. In 8 years hes says no pay issues except for tolls.

Drivers should really read their employee manuals and talk to payroll and benefits dept on procedures when hiring on. This help you to not have problems with pay and benefits.

The trip was paid out at zero ie paid out. It was a po issue that had the trip paid out at zero.
Who's fault was it ?? mine for going to work for knight.
Ink out the barcode . LMFAO I should have inked out something else on it.
There is a chain of command utilizing the proper channels is the appropriate course of action. To ensure that it does not happen again.
Maybe you should attempt to read the knight manual You don't really have to since going up the chain one step at a time is common sense.

That seems to be an ever increasing problem in this industry, doesn't it?

There are just too few companies, now-a-days, that can really afford to pay their drivers real money. And it is because you get these mega companies who will hire just about anybody off the street, pay them a survival wage, and so they can afford to underbid everyone else! It is driving freight prices down. It is pushing smaller companies out of the industry. It is forcing one-time good earners, to need to sit behind the wheel of a company truck, or go home and try to find whatever other kind of job they can.

Knight is one of the worst of these companies.
    • They're draconian about idling
    • They WON'T install APUs on their trucks
    • Only three batteries in their trucks (so you can barely only run your laptop after a long day to check your email)
    • They DO have criteria buried in their employee manuals about filing for reimbursements (that if you don't follow to the LETTER you don't get reimbursed)
And the list could go on and on.

But the complete truth is, Knight is not the only company that is like this. Almost every red-hooded (I say "red-hooded' to characterize the mega companies) company is like that. They have loopholes to get out of paying you. They have stripped down their trucks, making driver comfort a VERY low priority, and they offer things like sliding scale pay packages, and then even eek the most out of that that they can by using this arcane per dium system - which costs drivers in ways most drivers can only BEGIN to understand.

It's a game of maximizing bidding capacity. If they can squeeze every penny that they can out of their operation, then they can bid more and more contracts, in order to get more and more volume.

It's a Walmart philosophy with trucking companies. And like all of the little hardware stores and supermarkets that have gone by the wayside because of this philosophy, smaller trucking companies are on their way out, too.

    Wisc-Badger Thanks this.
