    Brokers are making a killing out here. I don’t have the time or personal to start a brokerage but these moron companies taking cheap freight are tempting me every day. All I’d have to do is say “That’s all I got in it” and I could be making more than I do playing O/O…….

    I'd be interested for any inside look at just how much brokers scalp from the original rates. Also the predatory lowballing on loads from the coast is just disgusting.

    I did. Was promptly told to #### because I didn't know what I was talking about, which I did because it's not like it affects my paycheck.

    Not a fan of most brokers, though.

    I’m not disagreeing with you but do you have any current customers? Can’t scalp a load if you don’t have any freight with good money in it.

    Just to clarify. I felt the same way in 2021. I’m a one operation that has had direct customers. I find it easier to operate the way I do by calling on brokers that have the freight and lanes I like. When loads are paying $1500 on 400 miles and brokers are listing it at $950 and the loads don’t last ten minutes. That is why I posted that you should know your worth. I’m doing fine rate wise so it’s not hurting me at the moment. But each time guys take the lower rates it will eventually trickle down to me.

    It is amazing but many blame the brokers for all of this, the brokers are not the problem. it is the desperate owners who are scraping ever penny they can to pay for the bills and pay themselves with inflated pay checks.
