Not gonna lie last year around this time I found a Caseys off my fuel card that was 1.50 a gallon. I hit that place like 10 times and was some kind of mess-up is my guess but I always got the 1.50 a gallon and felt like I stole it. Ha Ha

Do you really think the guys who are taking the cheap freight are on the forums? I think you posted this in the wrong language.

This is why everyone should know there numbers. Some people I talk to say there CPM is $4 a mile. Even when I had a 2k truck payment is wasn't even near that.
Problem with this industry a lot of O/O have no idea on their numbers. They try and beat around the bush all the time. My CPM was $1.20 last year. Now my RPM was over $2.20 a mile most of the year. So I did pretty good for being on a power only gig.

Seems everyone’s trying to get short trips that pay a higher rate per mile. That’s creating more competition. The rest are throwing it into the wind aimlessly and running high miles for cheap rates. Either way, or a combination of both still doesn’t pay enough. The short ones involve a higher DH percentage, eating into any gains. The long ones after fuel aren’t much better, considering you’re working much harder for a little more net after fuel. The few that are paying good, always have a catch. Late delivery, hazmat, Driver assist, dirty nasty Load. Always a reason. Bottom line too many Trucks, not enough freight. Won’t last much longer at this pace. Last time I said that, it lasted 6 years. That was because of dropping tonnage. Now it’s because of too many Newbies. They don’t know any better, or have no other choice but to run. Same as me. Except I don’t have equipment payments and high insurance costs. I can’t imagine $2 or $3k payments every month. I don’t care if you get 8 mpg. Still doomed.

I’m worth a lot. Too bad others don’t see it that way. Anything is only worth what someone’s willing to pay. They’ll only pay what’s needed. Look at all the poor workers doing nasty unskilled labor jobs for $15 hr. Those jobs should pay at least $20 hr., They don’t because there’s plenty of unskilled labor available. Unfortunately actual physical work isn’t highly valued. It should be. It’s not easy. It’s real work. $500 a week take home pay isn’t much to live on. Add a spouse making $12 hr. taking home $350 a week, both working hard jobs. Still living in poverty.

Most shippers won't waste their time talking to a one truck operation
