my gauge has hit 43 boost. but don't hit that high very much unless i'm lower then 1000 feet.
the last truck i drove had a dash gauge. and it was the same way. so my scangauge in my 660 is really no different then the dash gauge in the 389 i was driivng before. but it does hit 40+.
considering i pull open deck and drive in the mountains. it's nice to see what areas i run that'll actually have my 5mpg average actually hit 7+. just wish i could find my way to the east more often. to have a comparison between one side of the country to the other.
right now i'm using the LOD, ALONG WITH BST, MPG, AND AVG. i think those are the best to figure out how to get the best economy. and it's getting me to driving in 12th instead of 13th now. don't like the higher rpms. but i'm getting close to 6 now. with a lower lod and boost factor then driving in 13.
1375 rpms compared to 1550. @ 65 mpnh.
yesterday i did the phoenix to flagstaff hill. you all complained about my 1700 over 1500 climbing hills. but the truck was cooler. fan on the whole time. made flagstaff 20 minutes faster and my average was 4.1 compared to 3.8 on the first trip.
i don't think i could ever get burned out watching the thing if i can keep the number above 6. but it defenitly sucks when it's down in the 4 range. dang hills. LOL.

I just ordered mine tonight
i hear its got a 6' cord now for the freight shakers behind the seat plug issue -
Could have saved you some coin..... If anyone is looking let me know.
Its always had a 6' cord. If it won't reach just get a Cat5 Internet cord however long you need and a coupler and it'll reach where you want. Also you can link multiple units together.snowwy Thanks this. -
It has helped me go from 6.2 mpg to 6.8 . This is in a 379 with a 475 hp cat. Pulling flats. It will help you see where you are getting the best economy but you have to be willing to change your driving style. It's not snake oil because it isn't doing anything but showing you what the truck is doing. The changes will all be on you and your driving style.

the scangauge II is for gas engines(cars/pickups), uses a standard obdII port. You want the scangauge D. it kevin's kr model, which is based off the D model. the beauty of it is if you use the info it shows, you can save a big chunk of change on fuel.

I hope it works good mine should hit the house Monday the KR Version

It works very well. It keeps your instantaneous performance right in front of you so you can adjust your driving as changes occur.

So, ECM fuel data is never correct BUT we are now going to take that data, multiple and divide it and use that output to modify driving habits?
Now I like the ton of info the device can give you. User that info to improve driving habits. Not fuel consumption data.
Actually, the instant data would be good. It won't be correct in terms of WHAT you are using but should be good to compare if you are doing better or worse. But any other output that had a calculation in it will be less helpful.
