LOL I'm at Kroger in Atlanta, GA, I just got here but i can already tell that this is going to be one to remember. I feel like I have just entered grocery warehouse HELL.
I called ahead to see if i should come early, was told they don't start recieving until 6PM. You have to parralel park on the street and walk to the guard shack with your bills. I got here at 5pm, well, apparently everyone has a 6pm appointment.....theres legal parking on one side of the street, no parking on the other. I had a hard time finding a parking spot in the no parking zone! A few drivers have dropped their trailers on the street and bobtailed to pilot down the road.
It's a little industrial park that has a Schneider terminal and a Transport America terminal across from Kroger. No sooner than I parked, a lot lizard approached me, with a mal-adjusted shirt which lends me to believe she just got done with a john, and after i turned her down, she insisted that i'd get "everything" for $10, and she'd make it "worth my while"! WTF?
Edit: My lumper is pre-paid. Perfect. Thats how it should be.

Bouldercrest offa 285 ????????????
If so,
I spent a lovely month there one day................ -
Once you get inside it ain't that bad. I'm usually in and out in an hour or two there. At least your not at their produce and dry warehouse inside the loop in Atlanta. Those docks where built for 42' trailers with cab overs.
-
Just don't try to turn around in the cul-de-sac at the end of the
street. If it hasn't been fixed you can dang near turn your wagon over in that super sized pot hole. I have seen drivers that have had the trailer sit down on the drive tires there.
Oh and be very aware of that Asian looking he/she that runs the lumper service there. -
Place wasnt bad at all. Great customer actually...except for the lizard!
Now that i realize that that road that intersects in front of the entrance goes to the pilot, i think she mightve just been on her way to work! Lol
The cul-de-sac is fixed i guess. i turned around there.
What's wrong with that girl? Didn't seem asian to me either, but i know exactly who you're talking about. -
That's a good way to get your trailer and load stolen. We're not allowed to even park at the Petro or Pilot's in the circle any longer - have to go to a secure drop yard to RON.
Usually... if our receiver instructions include something like "walk your bills to the guard shack" then it's a cluster; best to get there early since a lot of those places call you in the order you arrive. I've been to a couple of places that will send you to the back of the line or refuse your load for a day if you try to jump the queue. The good news is that there are more grocery warehouse that are using an orderly appointment system these days.Everett Thanks this. -
Sounds like they haven't changed since I was last there in '92.
At least they are consistent.alaga Thanks this. -

Last time I was at that Kroger Had a hard time finding a parking space. After finally parking, Two drug dealers came up to my truck wanting to know if I wanted to buy some Pot. After checking in at the guardhouse, I finally got directed to my dock. As I was making that u turn down at the end, some jerk from another company, somehow cut in front of me and put his truck in his dock first, making it very hard for me to back into the hole. Was real cluster in there. While I was backing in I was holding up trucks and the yard dogs, while everybody was watching. After unloading, Found a spot on the street to sleep. Woke up with a bum knocking on my door about 6am.I gave him two bucks so that he wouldn't shoot me. I hate that place.

That's a good way to wake up dead. The Pilot should offer t-shirts that say, "I spent the night on Bouldercrest and lived to tell about it." LOLEskimo6804 Thanks this.
