KYU Number?

    You need a kyu# or permit if you are over 59,999lbs and travel through or stop in KY.

    My load weight is 17,850. So I'm assuming I don't need either than.

    You're licensed @ 80K? Just get a permit or KYU#. What are you going to do, leave those miles off when you do this quarter ifta? Going to cost more then.

    I'm still going to put the miles on this quarters ifta, I'm saying if I don't NEED the permit or number than why pay for it?

    Well 41.00$ later this issue is resolved. Got my permit through the KY got website, had it sent to email. Quick and painless. Hoping for the same on this load

    your KYU number when you have one is not required to be on the truck,,your USDOT number on your truck is what the KY DOT to look up your KYU number, get a trip permit, not sure but you might be able to get a KYU number on line

    You can print application online but have to mail in and make sure UCR is up to date

    I think Colorado is the only state that wants the last 8 digits of the VIN displayed, never heard of Kentucky having that requirement.

    According to https://www.permitsplus.com/downloads/fedReg390.pdf displaying the KYN number to is optional unless the vehicle is leased and the lessor holds the KYU account.
