DO NOT forget to report your KYU quarterly even if you have zero miles to report.....or they will suspend you and you have to obtain a $1000 insurance bond in order to run in the state........ask me how I know :biggrin_25513:

I do not plan on running KY after I pick up this load. I'll be in and out less than 120 miles.

No - if your are running under their numbers then you already have their dot number on the side. That's how they look you up these days.

If, as one example, you had your own numbers and were leased on to someone else and they were paying your ifta and kyu tax, then you would want to display their dot number so the ky scale would see you are registered.

just remember there is no replying later for a new number, after getting the KYU number you will have to file every quarter even if you have no miles or as mentioned you will have to put up a bond, and could also cause a an audit.

So every quarter I must put 0? Doesn't ifta automatically put zero if you don't input anything yourself?

Need to bump this. Apparently when you apply for a temporary permit #, you don't get a full kyu number? I was told one was not issued when I applied for the temporary one when I had a delivery in Kentucky.
I called but can anyone confirm this?

Seperate filing. Go to the Kentucky website and setup your account (free an you have to have a long password with numbers letters of both cases and a symbol...) and file every quarter.

Does not interact with ifta. I'm about to pull my KYU # I'm not going there or thru there again. If you have an account and don't file as mentioned above: they stick you.
