well I have to agree with the one guy that if your mile age is high enough, the fuel surcharge alone can pay for all the fuel you use.

However I have a question and didn't want to start a new thread.

Whats every ones opinion about the quality of terminal fuel compared to buying it from big name trk stps?

Has anyone really tried to compare and see if there are any differences in MPG one way or the other?

Like in Laredo, TX tonights price at the terminal is 3.672 and the pilot/flying j is 3.889, do you think its smarter to spend the extra money on the name brand fuel or save money buying the term fuel?

I hope this isn't starting to sound dumb or anything. But I learned my lesson with buying fuel from a Shamrock TS in Cheyenne, WY because it was almost 13 cents/gal cheaper, but then I watched my MPG slowing going down and down until the end of the trip. I seen it cause over a 1 mpg loss in mpg.

    just wondering?

ok, yeah, maybe some 40 - 50 mile per hour wind gusts that day going across Wyoming, but it was kind of a normal day for that place. lol

I purchase my fuel alot at the terminals and also small mom and pop places, and my fuel mpg has stayed pretty much the same. Normally I stay away from the likes of the T/A-Petro and Pilot. Like right now I am in AR at a TA. This morning I purchased enough fuel in Dallas at the Loves, only because I needed it, but only enough to get me to a new small mom and pop close to Little Rokh. They are normally about .10/gal cheaper. When I stop at the Peelot or TA, it is enough fuel for a shower.

Well I don't know what to think. I some times use additives usually Howes Meaner Cleaner, or Anti-gel if I am in MT or somewhere where its going to be cold. Actually I was going to start a thread called, "My Sweet Spot", nothing dirty but it sounds it doesn't it? lol

But my idea RPM rate for the best mile age I can get is about 1275. It makes me go a little slow, but I really see great MPG's when I keep the tack set there. I listen to the engine, if it sounds purring, and not like its reveving up, you know, working. Then I leave it.

Okay...can someone please explain to me how the cost of fuel is broke down....price at pump, surcharge, and rebates? I had one L/O tell me you will pay full price at the pump, and then get around a .30 surcharge rebate...whatever.
