Not back then. It was over a year ago and Gap loaded onto the wrong trailer. It was a holiday weekend and they didn't want to call in a crew to reload. So Gap paid Werner for Swift to use the trailer, and paid for Swift to insure the trailer. We pulled it from CA to TX. It got a lot of laughs at the Swift terminals and a great many questions on the CB. I just started telling people I stole it so I could help Jerry lower costs.
I saw UPS tractor pulling a Swift trailer yesterday. Must not be enough Swift trucks to pull UPS dedicated.
naw that happens. And Swift pulls ups and fed ex at times. Had a walmart driver pulling a swift trailer the other day at our dc. Had to bring it back from a store.
I saw the same thing about a week ago. I asked him about it and he said ups was leasing them. Said there had to be about a hundred Swift trailers at their yard. I said give them back, there aren't enough empties for us.
I forgot to mention that the Swift trailer numbers had been painted out and replaced with ups numbers. Looks like it might be a long term lease arrangement.
The window company I worked for started using Swift for moving loaded trailers between warehouses. It sure didn't last too long........... In the fuel here and not there/lets repower this 750 mile run game Swift was playing then.....we ended up with a loaded trailer sitting in W.Memphis on Monday morning waiting on a repower when it should have been in Dallas the previous Friday about noon. It took Swift from Wednesday night about midnight to Monday evening about 8 to accomplish a 13 hour Atlanta to Dallas run. Because of that fact...and the fact that it was a trailer loaded with special order windows, a lot of our loads went out missing orders and...our warehouse had to load an MS Carriers trailer for one of my runs.......what a piece of junk that was to pull. I think I had 3 blowouts that week......I just don't know how you good folks driving for Swift deal with that BS.
