That looks interesting....jungledrums Thanks this.

climbing on top of an icy tanker or rail car, to vent it caused me to end my dry bulk days.
my old bones won't take the fall or the climbing. lol.
dragging the hoses thru 2 feet of snow at 0200, and it's 0 degrees, up north was no fun either.
it's not all sitting in a lawn chair, sipping tea, while waiting for the tank to empty. -
I think it was mostly the money. You can make good money pulling tankers but ltl is no touch, no hose dragging, no hard to get into spaces. It's just to easy in the ltl world on linehaul. City is a different storySplashDogs and lovespink Thank this.

That’s true

Actually a lot of cryo guys carry a portable chair with them for those long unloads lol.
-
Really?
-
Yup some unloads are over 2hrs.

has it occurred to you that perhaps one is working a
-steering wheel holding, no work, no effort, easiest job in trucking, brainless, no challenge, linehaul job-
because they’ve already put their time in working their ### off day in and day out in sub zero/100*+ temps? maybe that guy already spent 11 years in the drilling industry and 4 years in grocery delivery. but...nah, you’re probably right. he’s linehaul, he must be a fat, lazy ####### that hates to move around and work...probably never worked a day in his life or backed a truck up in a tight spot. he’s linehaul, he probably doesn’t even feed himself, he has people for that.
blanket statements get my goat.Bob Dobalina, jungledrums and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
Well that wasn't exactly what I was saying, I was just saying different strokes for different folks. I'm not knocking line haul guys at all, I use to drive for FedEx doing team coast to coast and know what it's like. It' just not my cup of tea, just like some guys don' like tanker work. Ever since going tanker dry van/ltl period would be hard to go back to.
