Hey LawDog. Yeah everything is well. We are still here. I just haven't posted much since then because we are just doing the same thing. Pick up a load, deliver it and wait for the next one.

They did put us in a different truck because the A/C just wouldn't work and so they finally took it to a freightliner shop and that is when we had to switch trucks.

In August the whole fleet got a raise.. WOOO HOOOO.. :D and then we got duffle bags for being there 6 months accident free but they should have waited because I fell out of the truck in New Mexico. LOL.. didn't hurt anything but I have been extra careful since then.

We are at home for the weekend and have to deliver a load on Monday in Springfield and then I guess we will be back at it.

I thought you went over the road? Do you still work for Conway?

Nope not at Conway any more. Im working for fedex now. Its pretty good. Its nice to be home daily. The benifits are really awesome and the pay is nice to. What sucks is being new guy I get the ###### runs. Right now my run is a total of 82 mi and I have to work the dock 5-7 hours a night.. Im trying to transfer to a non dock working driver posistion and hoping to hear any day. I hired on to drive a truck, not a tow motor!!
I do miss otr sometimes, I especially miss taking the naps whenever the urgh hits me!!

Im glad you are doing well!! keep in touch, we all love the stories!!

Well, lets dust the shelves on this one and give an update.

At the moment we are at the Petro in San Antonio. We are now in a 09 Volvo, with an apu (that don't work at the moment, lol) and waiting for a load.

oh lets see, we have had breakdowns (truck and us), low miles, good miles, low miles, etc, etc...

This last truck we had, the heater wouldn't work. So they replaced the control panel because we couldn't turn the A/C off, etc. So we get the truck back, heater works in the sleeper but not up front. I guess it wasn't tested before giving it back to us. Ok, so here we are driving down the road with jacket on and for me, a blanket on my lap to keep my knees from freezing off. Granted it hasn't been really cold but it does get cold at night and when you can't adjust the temp in the cab, well, it's cold... oh and especially love it when hubby gets done driving and tries to warm his cold #####$ knees against me.. yeah, I'm awake now.

Finally after many messages back and forth to maintenance, he said he would have a vendor come and see why our heater isn't working (I don't think he believed us) so the guy comes and checks and says yep, its not blowing hot air but all the anti-freeze leaked out while we were sitting there, so the heater coil in the sleeper broke or whatever.

So before we went on hometime, we dropped off our truck at the freightliner shop in Houston. This was on a wednesday. Called saturday to see if it was done because we were only scheduled for 3 days off. Shop says that they haven't gotten approval to fix truck. Call work and let them know, they call us back to have US call freightliner and give them a number to get approval. LONG story short by thursday, they are telling us that Freightliner says that the part is on back order and didn't know when it would get there. Meanwhile, this whole time, we have been calling the shop to see if the part came in, etc. They never told us this.

Oh and then our Maintenance guy says that since we didn't send a certain macro, that we wouldn't get breakdown pay. Our DM took us off of hometime on Saturday and put us in shop status. The reason why it didn't get approved to be worked on at first is because the head guy at our company said it didn't know it was there.. HELLO, we have been talking to you everyday for the past 4 days about this. and you were the one that told us to take it there and we informed you that we were on our way. Can't stand liars. Ok, it was my fault for assuming that the truck would be fixed by the time our home time was up and so that is why I never sent that macro in.. big mistake on our part. Sometimes I forget to CYA...

But I did call the president of our company (got his assistant instead ) and we had a nice calm conversation about the whole thing. She said that the head maintence guy said that were going to get breakdown pay (probably just for one day) and I told her that he told us different. Basically I told her there was a breakdown in communication on both parts and gave a few ideas on how to resolve it. Whether or not it goes anywhere after that, who knows.

So we had to go clean out the truck, get a rental, drive to san antonio and figure out where everything goes in this Volvo. So after sitting home for a week and then having to drive here.... still no load, nothing, zilch... If we have to sit here all weeekend... watch out... Major hissy fit in San Antonio, so I would avoid it.. Just really tired of trucking, not tired of driving, just all the other bs... we are looking at some other opportunities, like being our own boss....

oh wow we got a load... LOL

    thanks calitrucker...

we are now in a 09 Volvo and that was different. Had to learn how to re-shift. It is a 13spd, so that was new for me. Anyways, got a load to california and then had to put it in the shop for a A and B service. We were down for 2 days. Can't figure out how to get the APU to do a regen for it to work.... Anyways, on our way to PA we hit a deer and now we are back in the shop in Jersey, waiting for them to fix it..

So even though they are offering us money to refer people to Landspan, I can't in good consience do it.

I'm just really confused on the APU and doing a regen. Are we not talking about an auxilery power unit here? They don't need regens, or at least mine doesn't. Got a problem wioth it, take it to Thermoking.

on some of the apu's there is also a regen for it as well as the truck. Thankfully we got out of that truck and into one that doesn't require a regen for the apu.

We had so many people tell us how to get the regen to work on the apu it wasn't even funny... The shop said that they did one but I don't believe them. I am sure that eventually they will take it to a thermoking but it is in the shop getting repaired after a deer committed suicide on our headlight..

They offered her a job and I checked and it looks like Land Span is a teams only section and solo is Watkins. LadyTrucker will be calling me as I'm looking for information for her and the website is confusing, and also she had her riding companion in the picture!
Is LS the team side of the whole conglormate? Can you throw a "company profile" together in a few short sentences as she'll be calling after 12noon Friday 18?
