I can tell some UGLY stories about our month at Landspan back in September 2008, but don't know if they'd be relevant now. If things are better, I don't want to cast stones just for the sake of casting stones.

Rollover and LadyTrucker. I will try my best to explain Landspan..
LS is a TEAM oriented company but they do have solo driver's which are operated through WATKINS but LS trucks. Same company but that is how they keep the teams and solo's separated. Don't ask me why, don't know. LS is a company which is owned by WATKINS, which has its fingers in many many other company's. Hi-way transport is their tanker division, which I believe is all O/O. SunCo is their reefer side which is O/O only as well.
Sometimes I hear the solo driver's get good miles and other times they don't. Also, I hear that it is hard for them to get to the west coast and that they mainly run midwest and parts of east coast. We don't do NYC but do some parts of upstate NY, Jersey (terminal is in Sayreville) and north PA as well. I think in the beginning I stated all the deposits and so forth. We DONT get detention pay, layover and rarely Breakdown pay. Which pisses me off because sometimes you are down for a couple of days and not making any money whatsoever.
We have had alot of teams quit because of not that many miles. I have noticed lately that they are making liars out of us by giving us some good runs. They have communication problems between shifts (which is normal in any company). We have been told that they will be getting Volvo's at the beginning of next year and getting rid of the freightliner's. I'll believe it when I see it. They will also be all on electronic logs as well. Right now our QC can't be read or send messages while the truck is in motion. For a team I think that this is stupid but they cite safety stuff.. I get that but you have to write everything down before moving your truck.
I can tell you all day about the pro's and con's of this company. But it will basically be your choice. They are like, IMO, any other company. They have their good and bad points. I don't know if I helped in your decision or not but you can message me back if you have any more questions. If we could quit and be home every night then we would but I believe that we are out here for a reason and until God moves us in another direction we are staying put.
Actually if you can find a better company I would go for it.CertifiedSweetie Thanks this. -
Have yeard anything about there watkins side for new drivers? As I live in Ocala, just up the road from them, this is one of the companies I am trying to get on with. The seem ok and I havent found much negative about them. Thanks

hey just wondering how hometime is with landspan stayin in south alabama and what r they trks governed at thxs!!!
-
not really sure but they are governed at 65. You are usually out 2-3 weeks before getting home or depending on how long you like to stay out.
Got a call from DM today and asked why we are quitting and I asked how did you find out and she said Facebook LOL... and yes I did post something to that affect but she also said that about 5 drivers called and told her. I didn't realize our lives were so important to other drivers that they had to let her know. Just a bunch of snitches!!! I think it should have been left up to us. Yes, it was my fault for saying something on a public place before discussing it with her, we just wanted to make sure everything was in place before giving her notice. Who knows, maybe she reads this blog LOL
