LMB I hear ya. We called JCT and we had 1 too many jobs so they turned us down. The other reason for not going with the Above Parr company, they didn't take care of their trucks. Great miles but if they don't fix the truck and we get a DOT inspection we get the ticket.
We tried Conway in 2007. I was in the process of getting hired. Went and did my road test. Road was wet, super single tires and empty. Light turned yellow, so instead of slamming on brakes, which would have locked up. It was clear for me to go thru the yellow light. Well they didn't hire me for that reason. Said I should have anticipated the light, I tried too but not going to jacknife a truck, at least not try to anyways.
tomorrow we should get our truck assignment and hopefully start making some money!
and yes a lot warmer than MO!

Mustang, you are correct.
Well we got our truck assignment and the truck was in Joplin... LMAO!!!!!!! So we had to drive back to joplin from florida. Which they paid us for.. Get home.. snow and ice everywhere. Get to truck, load our stuff and then see it doesn't have the current 2010 IFTA sticker, so now they have to overnight that to us.. can't stop laughing.. I guess the truck had been there awhile.
So now we go back home to grab my car to drop off the rental.. battery is dead.. So as soon as we get it started we have to drive to springfield to drop off the rental.. this is going to be fun.. My car handles better in snow but not the rental...
I really can't stop laughing but at least we don't have to go anywhere at the moment. So it's all good. -
And the journey begins !!!!!!
Keep us posted,...... watch that weather !!!! -

will do bam my wife is better and stays on top of this better then me lol
I don't know what you mean by them not fixing thier trucks, we are lease operators, and we take care of our own trucks. We are inspected every 90 days, and if it does not pass a dot inspection, they shut us down till it's fixed.
i was a solo comp. driver with above par and they dont have any team runs open and no lease op. so if they would fix the air leak in the truck but the shop just said its the rubbers in the glad hands but the lines were creaked lol had an apu but it did not run and the shop would not fix lol so we wanted j c t but that has to wate for 2 years lol so here we are landspan lets see how they are so far im happy with them the monney is not what were out here for its the life but the pay could be better but god pusshes us in the plase he likes so god bless ya all -
Seen a Landspan truck at Ryans today as we were leaving from having lunch. Took a photo of it, but then thought shouldn't post a picture without permission. But is was a shiney red freightliner. Looks sharp. I've always had a preference for red trucks, but ours are turning white.

mustang, if you are talking about the ryans in joplin, mo.. that was us. We only live a couple of blocks from there. but didn't want to try and get the truck on our street since it was still covered in snow and ice. I am also surprised that when we got the truck it wasn't covered in snow, since we got 6-7 inches on Friday. You should have taken the picture so that way we know what it looks like clean! LOL
Well we are now in KS waiting to pick up. We are headed to Santa Fe Springs to drop and then who knows after that. We have to log Eastern time and that is taking a bit to get used to.
