We are on the LS side. Our truck # is 86732.
In trucking, a sense of humor is a must imo... We didn't like to sit but maybe the bugs are fixed in this truck.. I heard that the volvos have less room, storage wise.
We are in Weatherford at the Petro watching the SuperBowl... GOO SAINTS!#!!!!

i would be so frustrated if i just got a truck and it is already breaking down. would not be a happy camper.
-
Sometimes everyone is going to have some bad luck, if you get frustrated over truck issues, i can only imagine how you react to what else trucking throws at you. These two sound like they're just trying to better themselves, and I don't think some truck problems are going to deter them from their goals.
Sacred Feline Thanks this. -
trashtrucker, you are right.... Trucks breaking down are part of trucking... Did we like to sit our first week, nope, but we are moving now and that is what matters.
We are now on our way to muskogee, ok then deliver to Oakland, CA on the 12th.. not my favorite place to go because there are no truck stops nearby, unless you drive back to sacramento or go south to the garlic farm t/s?? In the book it says there is another one closer but we haven't been able to find it.
Happy trails and thanks for everyone sharing our experience and your input. -
According to truckstopguide dot com, which I have found to be pretty darn good, updated, and best of all free. There is a whole lot of nothing near Oakland. Used to be a pay to park place right down off 880, but it was rough, and that was 10 years ago. Short of that have to go back down to Gilroy, or over to Ripon. There is a pay to park in Tracy, Tracy Texaco , and one I have don't recall in Suisun City I-80 and Suisun valley rd.
-
Suisun City is long gone. Nearest options are Gilroy, Stockton # I5 & CA 12 or Westley. I think there is a truckstop around Tracy, but I've never found it. I don't even know of a good shopping center hide out around the area any more. Pretty pathetic.

well fortunately or unfortunately, we are two days early. So we got to drop it in the yard and "they" said they should have something for us either later on tonight or early morning. So we shall see.
Oh yeah, we stopped in winslow this Morning, and noticed that the Wal-Mart there was closed. Do they close at night now? It almost seemed like a ghost town. And since they closed all the rest areas in AZ, trucks were parked everywhere they could.Braazooka Thanks this. -
But, im reading your thread and im very intersted in this team lanes that the do...how is it been? Long Hauls? CA to FL? We are a H/W team looking for a coast to coast opportunity and we want to go back to FL....How many years of experience does LS require?
We arejust burned of been used as an "unlimited hours of service solo driver", we want the long haul...most of the carriers want teams to use them as robots that never turn off and to break the DOT regulations when it comes to hours of service and it limits for solo's.
We, like u were turned down by conway for some stupid reason...anyway...nice that you started this thread about LandSpan. THX!!
Good lucky for you guys there...We are in Idaho Falls, should be going to AZ later tomorrow.

Brazooka.. so far I have noticed that when you get to a yard, you are on a list. Then when your number comes up, you get a load. Don't like that. Not feeling too comfortable with this company but going to push through.
At least it is a beautiful day in Fontana.
Landspan requires one year of experience. Even though they are based out of Florida, you will hardly ever see it because they have no freight coming out of there. I think if you have haz-mat, you might get more loads. We don't have that so I can't really say for sure if this is true or not.
I want to get moving and NOW.. lolBraazooka Thanks this. -
Covenantbiker, im sure that FL is really hard to get in....I'm probably will hold tight here and wait quite a few months before i take the decision to defintive "climax".
Except for the short runs, i'm doing so so, I know reefer is a very particular business usually requires multi-stops, most jobs are live-load, but i making a living, 5.5k miles/week + stop pay as team.
So my best wishes to you and hopefully we can keep exchanging info.
THX.
