Sounds like it is just the same as before in '04. That is one of the most annoying things with LS when you arrive in CA..sitting and waiting for your number to come up. We have sat for a couple of days sometimes waiting for a load with LS etc...

Here's one thing that I hope they have discontinued doing, it is having Teams shuttle trailers around LA..!! what a friggin pain as both drivers have to be up, one to drive and the other to work out the terrible directions. Then after doing that all day they would then give you a 1700 mile run leaving asap on a tight schedule. Now one driver has to sleep and the other needs to run however both drivers have been up all day busting their butt all over LA for only $75 Bucks...not good.

Just ONE of the reasons we lasted only 2 months...

That being said really enjoyed driving the Classic's...:biggrin_255: I wish you all the best.

Yep, they still do that.. We got here last wednesday and on Friday we got a load to pick up at the border to go to Ohio. It wasn't five minutes after rolling with said load, that we got a message to swap that load with a driver so he could be with his sick father-n-law. So we switched in Amarillo and it don't deliver till 5am. So then we get a preplan that as soon as we empty this to come back to the yard and get another load and take it to Long Beach, which is supposed to be there at 715 am. IMO is stupid because I am sure that they have drivers that can take that load so it wont be late.. but what do I know, I am just a steering wheel holder right? :D :D :D LOL

Oh and there was this mix-up where r DM thought our truck was in the shop getting a D service. As soon as we cleared her up on that, we got a load.

Still moving, bit by bit.. Oh and in Barstow today, got some towels from the Towel Man.. 8 of them for $10.. Wally world can't beat that!

Is LS still using the FedEx National yard's in LA or do they have their own now..? When we drove for LS, FedEx was Watkins Motor Lines. I was just wondering if they stopped using the yards when FedEx took over.

    Thanks.

the LS yard in LA is off of Slover.. so I am not sure if that used to be FedEx or not.

On our way to Maryland, lets see if we get past Texas... LOL.. we have to laugh or go crazy.. :D

TEAMS RUNNING SHUTTLE AROUND LA BEEN BOTH UP ALL DAY FOR $75 BUCKS !!?? OHH GOSH!!! We had this experience with Piece of&*%$# Werner: Works like this got to Fontana- CA? Then get 5 shuttle runs....i got to the point that they sent me 3 miles down the road just to don't pay freaking Layover...Disgusting. Sleeping? No way! Traffic, bumping dock...

" ...one driver has to sleep and the other needs to run however both drivers have been up all day busting their butt all over LA for only $75 Bucks...not good..." -
How do you know we did all thar? Jezzz it scary me...i tought u were talking about me...Scary thing...
Really, in my modest opinion, the way this companys use teams solo/local drivers with unlimited HOS. This should be considered ilegal.
They have us just to burn the DOT regulations about Hours of Service...
I think DOT should have a close look on this issue. When you solo, no way they run you more time than you can hold, but when team, they just don't consider what u been doing in the last hours...they think we are robots fully charged just because we logged 10 hours out of duty, on the "sleeper" There are many teams running fatigued around, i'm one of those, sometimes i have to stop crash for some hours because just can run in this terms. Multi-stops is one that in my opinion kills the team driving. Who can sleep while the other is bumping docks, driving 20 mins in the city and then stopping again...insane..
I'm currently doing this dedicated load from PHX to Colorado, grocery distribution that is killing me on 6 to 8 stops every run...Sometimes we just spend 7,8 hours unloading, city driving and the other drivers that is supposed to be sleeping, had just no sleep and have to be ready to continue the trip back to PHX. Insane. I'm becaming a ghost. That's why i'm looking for one company that can give me 2k miles straight without this godamm stops.
Thanks for read me. It's very nice when you can share experience with people that knows what are you talking about. Sometimes i feel that been O/O ans choosing my loads could avoid this rip-off.
But i don't know if is the right move.
I'm planning to start a thread about "team abusing"...
    THANKS.

It does not appear to be the same yard. The FedEx yard is the same exit as the TA - Milliken Ave in Ontario off the 10, a couple of miles down from there - Mira Loma. I am guessing that once FedEx took over they changed a few things..

I agree with you, my fiance and I used to say the same thing when we were teaming....you just gotta laugh, what else can you do...:biggrin_255:

    Thanks.

Yep thats what they did to us, pick up a trailer there and take it there, then get another from this place and take it there.... It is bad enough finding one's way around LA when you have good directions, some of the places we had to go no truck & trailer should go...:biggrin_25523: BUT thats LA for ya.

I totally agree with you, this sort of thing happens a lot with teams in many companies. I beleive it is more the dispatcher who lacks the insight as opposed to the company as many of these dispatchers have never been a truck driver and really have no idea. I think that the pre-requisite to becoming a dispatcher should be experience as a Truck driver, perhaps then they will better understand. It is something that has to be experienced not told as people just don't understand no matter how you explain it or how often for that matter...~lol~

I have done something similar and yeah no-one can sleep with the truck bumping docks all during sleep time...to hell with that. They should have that job split between 3 drivers. One drives (solo) from PHX to Colorado (doing the stops). Meets the other driver in Colorado (who has been sleeping in a motel room) swaps out, that driver then takes it back to PHX and the driver who bought the load up heads to the hotel for sleep. When the driver gets to PHX he then swaps with that Driver there and heads to hotel for sleep and that driver thens heads to Coloroad.etc etc.....sheez how simple is that, but I doubt the company will wanna do that....it makes too much sense...~lol~

I have been thinking about O/O because I need work, but I am not sure if I want to get that deep in debt just right now... :biggrin_25513:

Good luck and I will keep an eye out for the thread.

I will also keep an eye for that thread as well. We were lucky that someone else took that load to Long Beach.

We would be on time with this load but the shipper kept us there for about 5 hours and they were nice enough to let us bobtail to get something to eat, walk the dog and ourselves.

traveling through Missouri, stopped at the Love's and had our friends bring our mail. I should have told them to leave the bills.. Got noticed from a lawyer that we are in foreclosure.. yuck. But at least the house got showed today and I am praying that they will make an offer. Just need the world to stop for about 6 months so we can catch evrything up.. sorry hard to type on bouncing roads.

and if that was TMI for some people.. oh well.. :D :D

Want to be O/O too.. well we are already in debt so it should be any different.. LOL
