    5 to 6 wks to sign on is way too long, what o/o can sit that long? Dont make sense to me.

    Took me 2 months.

    Landstar checks and double checks every thing. Most O/O are smart enough to not jump ship before they have a new gig lined up. Chances are good if you got fired from some place else Landstar isn't going to take you on right away any way.

    Every body I've known going to Landstar applied and waited on them to approve them before quiting their previous company.

    Leased to LS for the second time, glad I came back on and would do it again 20 times over. They've treated me better than ANY company. EVER. Pay is great, turning profit AND paying bills. Pick the right freight, book ahead so you get the opportunity to GET good freight and run it as a business, not as a truck driving job. Slower=Money. Period.

    Hope it works out for you please keep us informed,,

    The thing i found to be very careful of is to watch out where i get a load, have had to DH hundreds of miles to a differant area where there is freight..
