You asking about Landstar? They take truck and trailer. If you bring you're own trailer you make a greater percentage of the load pay.

I wonder what percentages it would be with truck and trailer. The company I was looking at pays 85% But I pay full fuel price. I wonder if Landstar has a fuel surcharge? I don't think I have enough recent OTR time for them. It sucks to have around 500k miles driving experience, but only 150k were "OTR", I might give them a call.

scud
it used to be 73% of the gross pulling your own wagon, i hear it has gone down alittle, but yer still at 73% after a few months (for a flat)
LS does have a FSC, which varies week to week, we also have fuel discounts at alot of different stops (some are more than others)
Ls requires 1 yr out of the last 3 to be OTR, and they take about 3 months to get hired on
they are the best of the worst, or so i hear
but i like emScud Runner Thanks this. -
Thanks Bronc.
I have 8 months in the last 3 years over the road, close but no cigar. -
Are the rates they post on their load board the final rate or is their any negotiating? I am looking at one van load and it says this is a full load all in at a $1.03 a mile going from OKC to Oregon and then they get their %. It has to be a typing error or a joke. From what I see van and flatbed rates are about the same on their board in my area.

It ain't a joke, it is posted so it goes to the broker and DAT board. Someone with their own authority will take the load for about .85 and wonder why they can't make any money. Cheap loads are only cheap when someone moves them, otherwise they are just a offer. -
no joke....they are just hoping for some sucker that wants to go home

Wow.that wouldnt even pay for fuel.
