Even if you plan on doing van, go ahead and do the securement class and get your flatbed rating from the start. Once you see the flat/step rates compared to the vans and play the drop your loaded with no empties game a couple times, you’ll be buying your securement gear.

People i knew started on steps and went to vans. Said they could make more $$$.
Then they had a hard time getting a van,
