There's a load that pays $19K for a solo van on the board. $6 / mile. Cheap ### Landstar.

Yeah but report back to us when you see loads like that posted every week instead of only right before the year's end and a major national holiday.

1000 loads a day, shoot 5000, that blow your boys out of the water. Not even close.

Jesus Christ dude. Nobody ever said Landstar had awful freight internally. Obviously they have some decent freight or all those O/O's wouldn't hang around. The reason everyone ####s on Landstar is because they treat everyone who isn't them (and them is a select group of core agents and the trucks dedicated to them) like garbage.

EDIT: Hell the older I get the more certain I become that Landstar has the right business model for procuring trucks. The double brokering issue is a totally separate thing that I have a huge problem with... But the idea of running a logistics firm with a pool of its own trucks whose loyalty is secured by the fact that they are full partners in the business... That idea is very strong and it's why Landstar is so massive.

It's that or Coyote's logistics call center model. There are a few different ways to go and I'm still studying them all. I have to admit the Coyote model would be easier for me personally because of my background in call centers. I just have a pretty good idea what one should look like. But if there's one thing 2017 has taught us it's that not having any asset exposure is a double edged sword. When the tide goes out it can get ugly for those stuck on the shore. This year was the first time I was ever sincerely grateful that I had no contract freight.

Screw Landstar I will never haul for them again after this load. I will happily explain after this delivery on Tuesday.

Oh believe me I know. Especially when I was told by the broker that I am "just a truck driver who doesn't know any better". -Randi Graves LDWY
I would tell the whole story but I don't trust them to pay me after the delivery.
