Landstar is getting cheap.

The money flows. Easily. Read my Landstar so far thread. I almost quit about a month ago. And everyone has had go rounds with dirt bag agents. I've said right along it's not for the faint of heart.

But you also just qualified a statement that I make a lot.
The reason people don't work here, is because they can't.

22000 loads available. Now it is Sunday so that's like half.

Where are you?

 

217 loads available starting at $3 near where I run a lot. I have the filter set not to show any less than that. How many do you need, and when can the trucks be there?

Wait. I'll check 4 or 5 more places I typically go, probably get that number up to 600 or so.

Now three of the women agents I have stumbled across do mostly flatbed, and they are big time baby, they on the Ranger side, they can get freight pretty much anywhere, so don't F me up when I call them.

I find no value in you though, and you'd just be a liability, so you can go.

 

Weird! I heard loads were paying a lot more lately.. not sure what they were thinking on that....

I'm not offended, and I'm not miserable. I knew I'd make money hand over fist here, and I do.

 

I would not write them off completely. Just got to be careful which algebra you use. Years ago i did a lot of wirk with a landstar agent in florida that had a florida power and light contract. Sure she would rather use a landstar truck she knew well, but if they weren't available she would call me because she knew she could trust my father and i. She also knew she couldnt trust any random landstar truck to secure and properly protect the cargo. Too many guys using tuen up rags as tarps. At the tinge these loads were paying 5k to us from south cereal Florida to the charlotte nc area. And another 5k to return a week or so later.

My point is, yes a lot of landstar freight is garbage, and many of the agents are very difficult to deal with, but not all are so i wouldn't write the entire company off as a whole. There is money making opportunity there.
