I gave up calling CS to report agents because it never got me anywhere. There are some really great ones that I enjoy working with, but as you said there are ones that spam the board and waste everyone’s time on a daily basis. What about the ones that barely speak English and have such thick foreign accents that you can barely understand them? Or the ones that won’t accept calls and only want to talk via text? I don’t know what the process is like to become a LS agent, but I think the standards should be higher.
Also, before anyone attacks me for the foreign accent comment, it doesn’t have anything to do with race or ethnicity. My point is that to do a certain job you have to be capable of certain things. If your job is 95% phone calls then you should have a clear, understandable voice. If your job is moving furniture then you should be able to lift heavy objects, etc, etc. That’s all I meant by that, and I stand by it.

Landstar is bad. Go to Schneider.
TomGodin, Opus, Blu_Ogre and 1 other person Thank this. -
Logs are right or wrong, not liked or disliked. If you were struggling to fill out your log book correctly then Landstar had every right to take action in order for you to learn the right way to prevent tickets, CSA points, accidentally running illegally, etc. You can’t fault LS for your struggles with logs.roshea and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Hahaha. Still trying to keep the competition to a minimum Dave?Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

Yes I was a company driver for 29 years and my company always accepted my logs but then I went to work for landstar . But this is killing a dead horse . I moved on

These posts read more like undercover Landstar agents here to mitigate marketing/reputation damage. I'm a Preferred Carrier for Landstar and have pulled many loads for them and I can tell you from first hand experience the contract means nothing at all. It isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I pulled a load for a FWB agency ran by Rico Porter. He's a real scumbag. Claimed I was not entitled to detention although my signed contract says after 2 hours that I am. I did everything I could to make it work. Even offered them a 40 percent discount on my usual rate. Also, offered to have it billed in 15 minutes increments. Can't get much fairer than that IMO.
This guy went utterly postal on the phone with tons of colorful language, insults and threats until I hung up on him. That didn't stop his harassment though because he just continued his actions via email instead of phone. I had to block multiple numbers and emails to get it to go away. Then this tool had to contact Landstar with a complaint of a "service failure" because I left the load sitting at the Shipper. Well, since Landstar thought it was ok to hold my equipment hostage without payment I was forced to do what I had to do.
I got a call from Landstar asking my side of the story and was told a Manager would contact me but that never happened. After about a month I got a letter from them claiming I now have a mark or something like that on my record there. Whatever that means! Regardless, I could care less. I run MY BUSINESS the way that benefits ME the best way I can. It's MY authority and MY name on the door. End of story. Landstar breeches contracts and hides behind service thieving double brokering agents. If they are operating under Landstar's authority then they should all be held to the same standards. This, "oh, they're an agent" nonsense is utter BS.
The load boards are brimming with notes from other Brokers in their postings literally saying, "no Landstar" because their double brokering has become such an issue in the industry. The story above is only one of several experiences I can tell about the Blue Thieves. When you get a Big Mac you expect it to be the same no matter what store you go to. Landstar is no different. No standards for agents breeds misconduct and discord. My truck gets paid for every minute it's being used or it leaves. Period.

It gets better the minute you decide not to pull "their" freight.
