Wow, I would think that $2.80 ROUNDTRIP AVERAGE L.A. to Denver for a BCO is nothing to "stay away" from.

Are you saying the average drive van BCO at Landstar is more than $2.80 a mile after Landstar gets it's cut?

    If so, that's pretty impressive.

    10-4 good buddy.

I was just using that lane as a reference point to guage what the average guy makes who runs under Landstar's authority.

Doesn't matter if it's that lane specifically. Heck, it could be Pittsburgh to Atlanta or Chicago to Memphis and back for all I care.

If the average Landstar guy is averaging $2.80 a mile dry van after they pay WHATEVER % they do to the company store, that's pretty darn good.

However, I gotta tell ya, I have my doubts.

I worked there and never saw $2.80 a mile unless it was under a few hundred miles. My avarage was $1.40 minus 37% ,as I said I wasn't making much more than I was as a company driver and had all the responsibility of ownership ,care and fuel of the truck

Charlie, how do you know what these lanes are averaging if you don't run them? How do you know what the Brokers in Florida have if you never run there? Also, Landstar states what their percentage is on their website. Are you saying some BCOs are getting better that that? If so, how did they get that deal?
