I really can only your second question right now since I am technically on my 3rd week. I use my laptop in my truck to see the loads, then call the agent to book it.
So, far it is going good. It is going to take a while to get used to this whole system and the way it takes to be profitable. There is plenty of freight, just gotta learn how to run it the most cost effective and profitable way. I will post a full assessment after a solid month or two.

If ya wait till after 5 to get a load...good luck. THEN, I get alerted of a good load and before the message is even done playing on my phone and/or the email in my email account, I am on the phone with the agent and it is already gone. How did another driver beat me?

Most of them do have banking hrs, a few do not. I'm not sure what you expected. Didn't you know that pretty much every body EXCEPT the truck driver has banking hrs?
I've booked a load or two after 5, booked a few on a saturday, and maybe one on a sunday. So it is possible.

The load alert thing is great, but the reason you lost to another driver is the load will show up on the load board any where from a few seconds up to 30 mins before the system calls you. Or thats how it worked for me.

It wasn't really my expectation, it was more my lack of information. Now I know and it is all good.
