How much does a pair of Michelin steer tires cost with the LCAPP discount at the TA? Mine are running low and yesterday a mixer blew out a tire as soon as he cut in front of me. His gator sliced a slit on the side wall of my driver side steer tire and I do not want to be placed out of service for it

 

Call LCAPP. They will set you up with pricing and pull it off your settlement. Try to buy in one of the no tire sales tax states to save even more. LCAPP should be able to tell you which ones in your area don't.

 

I got mine done at TA east in Ontario back in May. Two Michelin XZA3+ and a three axle alignment was 1200.00 with LCAPP. Full price was over 1500.00 but with the LS discount and a little trade in money for my old steers it got the price down. They are taking 200.00 a week out of my settlement until its covered. You will like the XZAA3+ steers,I have heard of guys getting 250k+ out of them as long as you keep them at 110psi and watch for irregular wear.

 

Normally T/A only wants to give you $50 for a casing. I have gotten on the cb before and sold that tire for $100 to another driver who was happy to buy that tire.

 

I finally got my last repair loan paid off but it looks like I will be paying off another one for those steers. Needed my EGR valve and EGR cooler replaced. Paid $3K out of pocket and got a $1K loan from Landstar. The 18% interest rate seemed kind of high but I needed the green quick.

Because freight rates suck.

At least to the driver that is. Rates aren't so bad. It's what is left over for the o/o after all the middlemen get their cut that sucks.

 

Its hard to get ahead when you have to replace a 600.00 steer tire with 20,000 miles on it because of road debris. I have the same clip of nails in my left front wide single. My Goodyear wide singles have puncture protection and are sold as self sealing. Do you guys think I should pull all the nails and see what happens or look for a used wide single. My drives have 90,000 miles on them. The pic is the steer I replaced but the pattern is the same on the wide single.

 

Wow, that's crazy! I guess I can't complain about my steers after seeing that pic!
