There is a lot of 3pl freight but the customers will call more than just landstar to move the load. So yes its a good thing they call to confirm the load, especially if its been around for a bit. Some agents are good and some aren't your going to have to weed through the few that are bad and deal with the majority rest. All and all its takes a bit to get settled in and find the good freight routes and the good agents just be patient

I wanted to thank all of you for posting on the last 50 pages. I'm in the process of qualifying for Landstar and I googled Landstar just looking for more inside information on the company and ran across this forum. I liked it so much I didn't realize I've spent the last 4 hours reading posts. I learned a lot about this company from you, and it made me do something else I've never done: sign up for this site. I don't do forums, but after all the time I spent learning on this site I am now a member. The biggest thing I've learned is that I need to make friends and network. I'm not a people person, as a matter fact I can't stand people which is why I got into trucking so I wouldn't have to deal with anyone, but I'm going to do something else I'm not known for doing: Networking. I will kiss babies, i will shake hands, and I will tolerate personalities all in the name of success with Landstar and the freedom that comes with being leased to this company. I will play nice with others. My qualification process is not yet complete, as I'm still waiting to get my truck d.o.t.'d and then my drug test and orientation in Reno, NV, but I am looking forward to this new and exciting chapter in my life and the mountains and valleys that come with it. Keep up the good work drivers. this is Flight Risk and I'm on the side.

So, I'm sitting in orientation and they say "once you have a trip # you're good to roll on the load." In the next breathe they say "You have to get the dispatch info in writing otherwise LS won't be able to do anything if info the agent tells you is wrong." Now, I read on this page all the time don't roll on the load until you have that dispatch info. So if you are on the load, get the trip # but they don't send you that dispatch in the next hour how do you get off the load? Just call the agent? Does LS get pissed when you do that? I don't want to get screwed because I don't have the dispatch but if once they give you that number you're already screwed how do you work that?

When you guys e-file your 2290 to get your schedule 1 under company information that would be Landstar's info? Is there a department at Landstar I can call to help me through this process?
I noticed it also requires an EIN, would that be Landstar's or my SS#? -
Dewey120 Thanks this.
