Landstar Questions

I am interested in applying with Landstar and was wondering if I have to have my own truck or do they offer tractors? Currently I'm with a company and leasing. Was great the first month. (Blank stare/Crickets chirping)

 

Landstar does not lease or sell trucks.

You need to obtain a truck on your own somewhere else ether by lease or purchase and have it pass Landstar’s inspection to lease it on with them.

 

I'm looking at having my truck paid off by summer next year . I'm looking to lease on to LS . I have a friend getting his experience up so we can team.

Could we do well running team at LS?

 

My buddy did well teaming. Even as a team you can still book solo fright and stay busy.

If I had a team driver I'd try and get on those military loads hauling ammo and explosives.

I just started LandStar orientation this week! May not get done early enough tomorrow to get a trailer until Monday. Time will tell but to be honest I was warned in advanced and chose to come this week to get it out of the way and be ready to roll as soon as possible.

Were you an o/O before going to landstar and if not, where did you get your truck? I'm seriously looking for a starter truck. Hopefully start with landstar and then upgrade. That's part of the plan anyway.
