you answered your own gripes,,,freight is slow, the rates are down,,,,your lucky if you can get company driver wages,,,and companies are not hiring,,,try pulling CHR freight,or JB Hunt loads,or any other broker loads,,the money is bad right now,,,,,is that Landstar's fault? Try pulling for one of the major carriers,,they tell you when and where to go and control your home time,,,,at least at Landstar, you are picking and choosing your loads,,,,and just like CHR and the others, the rates can go up substatially as the load gets closer to pick up time. and if i'm not mistaken, contractor services will back you up if an agent tries to lower the rate once you are given a trip number

    For Mr.plumcrazy.......

    From trustinfuture

Read my other comments and make yours.
And YES......I make my $3000 a week where I am right now.
    Its steady and sometimes busy.
Regarding my English, hope you speak as many language as I do.
For your record,I am a successful O/O for the past 20 years until I start pulling miserable loads at L/S and their lier's agents.
I never drove trucks older than 5 year and I have always my trucks in cash including the one I'm driving right now and that it.
To be a successful O/O means more than just kiss agents bottom, means you now not to pull cheap loads never, better bankrupt that be a cheap O/O and that is the way I will always be.
Yes,I am EUROPEAN emigrant and as everybody know,as an PROUD EUROPEAN I have plenty education and I hope you do at least whatever I'm doing for this country, that meaning not to sell this country cheap, but to make it better.
SAY NO TO CHEAP LOADS,screw those with cheap loads.

That’s a great question. Since there are many dialects of us Native Americans (As noted in the Smithsonian.) one can only group it into the category of the Indian Language. (Not to be confused by the Country of India, which also goes by the Indian Language.)
The Apache getting the root from the Athabaskan concept.
Although like most Indian languages here in North America there was no written form until the Europeans came. Just like there were no diseases.
Of course the Indian languages of the Americas were preceded by other languages so Native is a relative term. Nonetheless there are many languages used over the world that over lap towns, counties, states and countries.
One versed in more than one language has proven to have a distinct advantage over one who doesn’t. One might even say that a multi language individual is predestined to have a greater success in life. Although it is definitely not a prerequisite.
    Hope that helps.

You are misinformed Driver. I am only putting out the info for others to learn about Landstar. I am a grown man and I can leave Landstar at any time. But I can also use Landstar for great loads when they pop up. But for now they have very few and Drivers wanting to come on with LS now should be told the truth. They will not run like we did for the last two years. Not until it picks up. And Contractor Services will not back you up if an agent tries to lower the rate once you are given a trip #. A trip # is worthless unless it's under your truck and you have a Load Sheet faxed to you. That is the only binding agreement for a load. Verbal is not binding. Even if you record the conversation. The recording will only keep LS from giving you a Service Failure for not taking the load.
From your comments I can sense that you take the loads out of frustration. Which is fine, your free to make or lose as much money as you want.
You are also misinformed about CHR (CH Robinson) They now have a written contract with Landstar and a running credit line with LS. Been that way for over a year now. For all Intents and purposes CHR is part of LS. If you had load sheets faxed to you you would see that a great deal of the cheap freight that LS is handing out right now is actually CHR freight. Which confuses me that you would make the previous comment knowing that CHR had the credit line with LS. You did know that right? You did check your load sheets for your last 100 loads right?

Comments like that are misinforming to decent hard working drivers that want to make the change to LS. They need to know all the information so that they can make the decision on their own and not be surprised when they get here.

A “I told you so” doesn’t stand well when you can’t pay your bills. So no gripes here, just good solid information.

Most of us came from immigrants. However most of us have forgotten that. I have a great sense of pride in people that come from so little here in the states and abroad that are trying to build a Country.
Others want everything handed to them but there are plenty who are honest working and proud to be building a Nation. Working for the Dream while living it.
Great advice. Pay off your truck and trailer and work hard.

    Kudos

Yes Sir, "Say no to cheap loads" If everyone did the cheap loads would all but disappear.

Even in India there is no such thing as an Indian language. Among the languages spoken in India are Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telgu. Tamil, Sanskrit, etc. with dialects within these languages.

In North America there were many languages with thousands of dialects within these languages. In the Salish language, which I speak, alone their were 37 dialects although most Northern Straits people today speak only one, Cowichan.

Interesting you bring up the Athabaskan language. I have friends from the Chicotin nation who travel south to visit with Navajos. They are able to converse with each other. There are similarities twixt these people seperated by thousands of miles such as dwellings, symbols, songs, ornaments etc..

The problem I have with grouping it as an "Indian Language" is it is a form of pan-indianism denying the diverse cultures that were here in pre-contact times. It is akin to speaking of a white language and expecting a Norwegian to understand an Italian. I grow tired of people watching Dances With Wolves and expecting me to know what people are saying in a Siouxian language as we are both "Indian".

    Appreciate your reasoned response.
