The biggest problem with the $100k NET is that even if one can do that amount, THE TAX MAN COMETH! He will take a nice chunk of that $100k leaving you with maybe $70k? I already do that leased to a carrier and don't have the extra headaches.

I am coming from Dart in Eagan Mn to Landstar..I have been told its like day and night.
I think I can handle just about all the things nessary but the IFTA and other tax related things..Where can I get that kind of info. What can I expect my cost per mile on taxes to be? I am thinking of letting Landstar set me up the first year and getting my own base plate the second yr after I know what states I will run in. I prefer south of I-70 and west of I-81..living in Cincinnati I dont know if thats a good area or not for dry van. I dont want to be so picky I end up picking my butt with no loads paying.
I now get .90 per mile mt or loaded but only 2500 in 7 days and only home 4 days a month. Can I expect to do better?
