Well I've actually reached the " My freight doesn't hit the board " point coming and going for the most part. And everyone has said they will load me as a qualified carrier. So I think that's how it's going to go.
Rarely have I come across agents that consistently come up with good freight. There are a couple of trade show agency, But I am off their radar because I wont do the east bound crap. I bought my trailer and things fell apart with one guy I was working a bunch with cause 90% of his stuff was drop and hook. He still calls if he sees I am around and he has a live load..... He's the kind that looks for trucks rather than posting loads to the board. My requirements for loads have changed a bunch over my time here. Drastically changed after buying the property. Not sure there are loads good enough to drag me away for more than a week or 2 tour.
I have freight bills for a month lol. The two D&H I work with told me they'd load my trailer, but they need it for a day. So what I think I'll end up doing is buying two extras and leaving them there so they are pre loaded. My main dedicated is live load. Have him every Tuesday. When I can procure two more trucks, actually drivers, take another day, maybe every Thursday.
I wouldn't be leased to them then. Call them. Tell them of my master plan. My truck is 423419. Operator 278058.
Sorry Dave, Got distracted by stirring up the ashes (and embers) of a 2 week old burn pile. Guess I'll play with old flames all weekend.
