LS had and probably still do crane dry van trailers. They pay crazy rates loaded pulling elevators setups. I looked I to that and I forget but their was some catch to those loads. Like long loading or unloading times and you have go back to the same place to get loaded again.

So what's the only time that I physically have to go down to a Landstar Location, if I Plan on leasing My trucK To Them And Hiring a driver? I think I'll have to go to an orientation since I'm the owner of the truck and get them my LLC info, and my driver will have to go to an orientation and meet their requirements also, but is there any other time where I need to go down to a Landstar location? I know that I will have to get a dot inspection, but there's places everywhere. The reason I'm asking is because I'm on the West Coast, and I don't know how much West Coast freight they have, and depends on where my driver will like to run. Could anyone give my some advice on this. Thanks

Help me out. The rate was $2.25 a mile gross. Did that include the fsc? So, after LS backed out their % and the fsc, how much of that rate per mile go to your truck?

That probably included FSC. But he said many times before that he was failed at LS. But, was here 10 years. Take it for what its worth. Ive succeeded 10 years at LS.

If the fuel surcharge is say $0.21 this week. It's 2.25 -.21is $2.04 LS get their 33% of $2.04 so you get 67%of $2.04x.67 is $1.36 to your truck. Then you add the fuel surcharge of $0.21 back in $1.36+$0.21 you get $1.57 per mile to your truck. That pulling their trailer. You can get 7% more if you have you own trailer. All the TV loads were pre loaded trailers because the come from Mexico. So you can't get them if you have your own trailer

Landstar seems good from everyone I've talked to. But I you know every company will have their share of unpleased employees ,that will always complain, no Matter what, and usually it has nothing to do with the job, but with there personal experiences, but they shouldn't give out advice based on this. I'll give you an example, the company I'm working at now for the last 16 years, some of my Co workers, complain about how bad it is and blah, blah, blah, and of course there has been some changes in our compensation, which all big companies are always looking for ways to save money, but not to the degree where Its not worth doing the job. (Basically everyone would've taken a $5000-$8000 pay cut annually, if they didn't sell what their projected sales target was, however if they did, then there salaries remained the same, and that extra sales revenue went to the company, so basically you end up working a little harder for the same pay, which things like that are not within an employee's control.) But at the end of the day these same people will continue to come to work and complain about the job, yet they will still make their $70,000 -$80,000 a year.

I so love LS. It's the only placed I've wanted to work for a long time, and I love it. I've spent years as a hobby dispatching myself on boards, and I'm really good at it lol.

Took my first LS random wiz quiz today.

Got a call from logs the other day, they do like 3 calls in the first 3 months, and dude said I was like top of the class for 0 violations, blah, blah.

Only bad thing is these two trolls. I was almost ready quit, because they are so unhappy. I talked to my dispatcher ( me ), and the operations manager ( me ), and we hashed it out, and they convinced me to stay.

    Be safe everyone.
