Off subject, but as an owner operator, I think I should be able to do my own annual DOT inspections. Anyone see a problem here? And if you do see a problem, do you see any problem with me paying double to a mechanic to get a favorable outcome?

Fact of the matter is that you can do your own dot inspections (seriously, ta/loves techs can do em, you arent as qualified?) odd you didnt know that.

Yes potential conflict of interest, but outside of a shop that only does dots, no repairs, there isnt a place that conflict doesnt exist
