I'm more concerned with the 3,5,7,9 11 x brokered CHR and TQL loads that end up on landstars board
that's what's concerning me . If you book that load and get confirmation but yet another person outside of LS did also .. How's that work somebody gets the shaft and you have to assume it would be the LS - BCO .

I have no insight in this but it seems to me it could have a decent chance of happening

Rarely, If ever that happens. Thats not how freight works. And there are a few agents who post CH,TQL,etc loads but, as long as they pay I don't care where they come from…...

I had a LS broker in Texas who cut out LS from the loop for a step deck driver friend of mine , he'd take alfalfa from Arizona to Florida for these polo ponies paying cash for fuel the whole way ,get a check and give the broker his cut. Landstar didn't get a dime ha ha ...he rented the deck for 250 a week I think from LS so I never saw a problem with it , but just goes to show even corporate gets the shady end of the deal sometimes . You just have to outhustle the hustler

The SNI deal to me .. ( no not orange glasses , I'm neutral ) more of a easier operation with less headache . Now with that said .. LS somewhat gives you the ability to dicker with rates but I was told by LS Recruiting and on the LS Loadboard demo the other day that most rates are LOCKED IN by the Agents which book them and cannot be negotiated . However they will help you by breaking out more fuel etc which is 100% to the BCO

on the SNI board it is what it is and more availability to move freight with minimal delay . Time is money and no I'm not a miles , miles , miles , more miles guy .. I'm a revenue and work less guy who watches his Cost per mile ( CPM ) and can avg close to 8.3 to 8.5 mpg on 33-35k loads and in the 7's on 38-44k . And 11-11.5 empty .

If a person watches his numbers and runs more lean and utilizes the fuel discounts and etc . I can see how a person can make it easily with SNI .

I can also see how someone could make it with LS although I think it would be harder work in order to achieve at LS what you can at SNI

    unless :

    1. You have a "IN " with a Agent

    2. Specialized Van

    3. Deducated to a particular agent

but when you look at it System Work all 48 OTR apples to apples I think SNI has the advantage in that category by have the ability to Drop and Hook 75-80% on the norm and the live loads being that of their own customer base ( SNI ) verses a 1 shot or 2or 3 off broker deal or round robin ..

I thknk the advantage goes to LS on specialized and spot market although I can see where SNI can come in with higher rates in tighter capacity areas also in which their leverage power and truck availability may give them a edge if they truly wanted a lane in a tight market . But LS does get the edge in Specialized van freight such as Pad wrap etc .

I'm not so sure it rarely happens but I'm sure not all the time . I had a LS recruiter tell me ( note not their greatest sales pitch ) that we have agents who MOVE FREIGHT and we have agents that AQUIRE OTHERS FREIGHT .

I take ale that as they move freight off other boards but it was not directly said that way .

They did say they are trying to weed out the bad agents who bring no true value in terms if moving freight out of the LS system

For the exact same reasons people fail at any company. No surprise there. Bad decisions, bad money management, don't really understand the business, can't effectively control costs? Usually failures look to blame others and can't ever make an honest assessment of what they did wrong, therefore one of the most important things in business, they do not learn from their mistakes - can never overcome them if you can't point to them. This is exactly why I never encourage anyone to come to our company. Because of failures who would point the finger at me or others or blame the company. We're like Landstar, success or failure is determined by YOU. It's a challenge to make a living off loadboards but not impossible. I don't know everyone at Farm2Fleet but the owners I do know are successful at working off loadboards.

You should start a new thread on this as it's off topic. We can also discuss several drivers who have been here since the beginning and successfully overcome obstacles along the way.
